**disclaimer** I do NOT support true street racing, nor do I promote it in any manner. ESPECIALLY in Cali. What I did was risky, I know. Most enthusiasts enjoy the occasional fuck-around with another enthusiast, and this was no true battle-to-the-death or living my life 1/4mile at a time. We didn't break 80mph in a 55 in a wide 6lane, no-traffic area in the middle of the night. Yes...burger king is open 24hours out here...

Shit, boys...here we go, again. I said when I bought the car I was just gonna leave it stock, leave it alone, love it as it is, and I'd be happy with her...

Well, the other night I got into it on two pulls with a brand-fuckin-new BMW M6. One from a 40mph roll, and another from a dig. From the 40, with him getting the pedal down before I could throw my phone to the floor from text messaging, he pulled, but I stayed at his taillight. We got to the next light, and we both stalled for a second and launched. My car started pulling ahead of his around 50-60mph (probably woulda been sooner but the car remained sideways through second gear with TCS off) but I had to dog the brakes and cut right to make it to my final destination...burger king. :)

After this, I was like, "I'm impressed that I pulled on him...but what if I could get just a LITTLE more. What if I DID get that supercharger I've been eyefucking?"

So I jumped back on the websites frivolously for the past couple nights. I found the Saleen charger that's going to put me from my factory 300 @ the fly to about 400 @ the fly. But it's a little too much stress on the two-piece driveshaft. And with the other upgrades soon-coming, and already on...I expect my car to put down about 420-430 @ rear wheels...so it's time to pave the way.

I'm putting down my bid on a Coast one-piece aluminum driveshaft, and eyeballing 3.73rear end vs. the currently installed 3.55. I'll also probably be adding a driveshaft support brace just for added protection. Not too much longer, and I'll be looking to install the long tube headers (which are going to make my car sound like a death machine, most likely), and probably a dyno tune to last until I get the rest of the money together for the Saleen (or maybe Roush) supercharger. The Roush Stage 3 suspension is being put off for the time being...I may do it just before the charger. As of right now, I haven't felt the need to do anything to the brakes.

Bye bye wallet. Bye bye vacations back at home. Bye bye getting the jetski and/or quad. *sigh* I hate my addiction. It's a disease with no cure.

LoL. While I do plan to find the local drift people or whatever and learn the skill, better, I do not feel I'm near ready for that kind of sideways driving. I can handle it getting sideways from a launch, but in an actual turn...not ready for that, yet... LoL.

Imagine the kind of EF you could have for what you've spent on that Mustang.

Yeah, but I enjoy the sound w/ ac, power windows, power locks, an alarm, the torque, etc.

I won. :) 550$ as of tonight. Driveshaft is on its way. :)

Hmmm --- I say turbo before the charger man --- go for it.

I would agree if it wasn't a V8. The roots style charger is designed for this motor...or vice versa. It'll give me my instant power without the lag, and put me right around where I wanna be with power...

I'm open to thoughts and suggestions, though. Why turbo over super?

Why turbo over super?
Less parasitic drag, higher power potential

But I'm not looking to exceed like 480whp...

The drag I can deal with. My concern was if I would get better gas mileage with a turbo than the super, but I've not had luck finding information on that. Also, I think a turbo may be more cost efficient...but... *shrugs*

I do not have experience with comparing mileage on boosted V8s. That said, the laws of thermodynamics and conservation of energy tell me that a turbo should be more efficient.

Hmmm...I was actually just about to say I probably need to check in on stangnet and get some opinions with some people more experienced with this motor specifically.

I have found your answer on This website (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.robots-piscine.net/robot-piscine-joker-type-r/index.html&ei=rZmkSZObFYKEsAPuo7WjAg&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=3&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3DJoker%2Btype%2BR%26num%3D20%26hl%3Den %26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DG). It's a disease with no cure.

There is a cure, actually. Hopefully you'll find it sooner than later. Later, QD.

LoL, what, the desire to build? Even at your old age, you still love your little cvvc. :tongue1:

That's...not my addiction...
Not even gonna get on this topic. Later, man... (and no, that's not a pun on your signature)
