I am thinking of building something for camping. Instead of a fiberglass shell on my truck I want to build a frame thats shaped like one but about 2 feet taller than the cab and use a nice heavy, fabric type (i think thats what its made of) tarp for the cover and tie/bungee cord it to the bottom of the bed to secure it. That would leave plenty of room for an air mattress in the bed and whatever else (its a long bed).

What do you think of this idea or got any suggestions on how to do it better?

Im gonna get the one if it will work only cause the price is right, if not then I will build this as it will cost me maybe $30 for the tarp at most.

not bad i can design u somethin, u could use 3diff sizes of pvc pipe n actually have it colapse in the bed and out of the way. :) lol ah hell ill jus draw it up n send it to u lol

those look cool.. id so worry bout bein unbalanced on a car n the the thing fallin off lol man that would suck..

Yeah. My idea is to build a solid frame out of stainless and have it clamp to the bed rails when in use and then take it off when you don't need it.
