Just installed my new tri-y header and the clearance is like ass  lol. First of it was a b*tch to put the bottom piece together n then after all that the clearance. I even raised the car up about n 1.5-2 and its still way to low. Also lost bottom end power but after 5k  this motherf**** pulls crazy. So far running an open header, but its way to loud. I dont know if im gonna keep this header or not. But here are some pic's ... enyoj and dont buy the header LOL!

*This the header with car being lowered about 3" with 205/50 15" tires. Ill take some more pic's later with 55 series tires and after i raised it up a bit.

Yeah, this is standard for a B-series in an EF with a 4-1 header. It's why I will always recommend a 4-2-1 for a street car.

I feel your pain though, as I have a 3" downpipe under my engine with a V-band flange on it, my clearance was even worse.

Wow that clearance is a bia! And I thought my 4-1 header had bad clearance, that's worse. BTW 55 series tires won't give you much of a higher raise.

Yeah i feel ya. I had a dc sport 4-1 header on my old set-up and it was pretty good with the clearance .

where did you get that header from? thats not one of our boxes?

Thats a 4-2-1 tri-y but clearance shouldnt be THAT bad, i mean they hang low but thats like on the ground.

Get back to me, i wonder if its a GSP header or something

its common to see a crossmember cut with any header in an EF. But that ground clearance sucks.

I had a real Hytech Production header in my car an didnt have clearance problems like that at all.

Sell it and buy an RMF from me (pm me for a price) youll have 100 times better ground clearance and make way more power. Sell that tri-y before you destroy it

if you look @ the FS thread, kidd has posted quite a few times, offering ways to fix it, such as shortening the header.

if you look @ the FS thread, kidd has posted quite a few times, offering ways to fix it, such as shortening the header.Would shortening the header be free?If not then its pointless because then your buying a header with no so much clearance and you have to pay to make it shorter:thinking: Why didnt they just shorten it from the get go.That way customers would have 100% problem free.Thats what I would have done because if its shorter then more clearance and if your not that low then it wouldnt affect you but if you were low low then you still would have enough clearnace.Just my:2cents:

Thats retarded, you guys think 1 size fits all. This guy likes his car SLAMMED ON THE GROUND, no header will give him the clearance he wants. But, i know a guy that can shorten the header for better clearance, an he will do it for free.

I didnt shorten it from the get go because you dont want to compromise primary length as that CAN sacrifice power. I kept the design IDENTICAL to a RMF NArrow.

But , in this guys case, he has no choice, if you want to ride around slammed on the ground, something HAS to give. Even a USDM DC 4-1 is going to dent like a motherfucker . And if he thinks a JDM Header is going to be better, hes wrong, it will be worse than this header or the Tri-y

Trust me, ive owned more EFs than anyone in the EF Squad combined.

Seems pretty stand up to me man :yes:Im with Allan now haha because I remember KIdd told him to get the other header and it would have better clearance. But O well I can mess with either my Oem header is about a inch from the ground now.:( and they have big speed bumps at my school. So its either go high or park in the front where thieves can steal my radio again.

Im not ridding slammed. I think its the mounts that make it sit so low. There is absolutly nothing wrong with ur header. And im not trying to get the JDM header. I had a DC 4-1 header before and it almost lined up with the oil pain, mayb .5 or .25 of an inch lower then the pan.

I would sell the Vteckidd's header and order a replica TODA or a real TODA header. They produce the most hp on a b16 (assuming thats what you have) and they were originally made for a b16 so you dont have to worry about clearance.

thats really not that bad, the TODA will give you maybe 1in more clearance, looks like you raised the car up a good inch, the pic in the sig is SLAMMED lol when you are tucking 15in SI wheels.

Just avoid running over speed bumps an you will be gfine

It's cool homie :goodjob:

The profab header should open your b16 up alot. If you get one, you should do a before after dyno.

As for my hatch, I just collecting parts and saving money for the body work. I kinda pushed it to the back burner until I finish the CRX (which should be done by the summer :ninja:)
