sooner or later you're gonna get a ticket. I'm rolling around with 5% except the front. I wanna get the front done too but it's kinda hard for me to see as it is.

cops can only check windows that roll down...they need to be able to stick the meter over it so it can scan thru one side to the other

I had my Tacoma tinted 35% on the windshield and got a nice $169 ticket for it.

Not true. There is NO tint allowed period on the windshield past 6 inches from the top. No meter needed.

YEP... But i tint them all the time and I've yet to have someone come back with a windshield ticket.... Most people just get tickets for the sides being to dark......

On my Toyota, and as of mid-week on the Audi I have the entire windshield done in 35% with a 10" strip of 2.5% on the Toyota, and probably a 6" strip of 5% on the Audi.

I'm thinking about tinting my windshield....

One of my customers had an 03 TL with 20% all around and 35% on the windshield. It looked great and you couldn't really tell because the side windows were so much darker. On my next car I will be tinting mine.

Like they said, you WILL get a ticker eventually. I have gotten 2 on my G35...$56 each in Gwinnett. All my cars have 5% all around except for the Scion XB...it has stock.

No doubt. I went almost 2 years without getting a tint ticket for having 5% all around then I got 4 within 2 months. I'm replacing the 5% with 35 shortly...:(

some one told me they can tow your car for having tint on the windshield, true?

if its on the whole windshield its illegal most shops dont do it and they dont go under 32% i got 20% on my sunfire and no tickets had it for about 3 years, but the 240 is like 5 all the way around with a 9inch strip on the top of windshield at like 5% i feel like im in a cave

I seriously doubt it, but that doesn't mean that a cop won't tell you that or even do it. They say and do a lot of things they are not supposed too.

lol......saw a guy get ticketed at a road block in ClayCo with a tinted windshield last week. it looked wicked though, couldn't see shit in that Mustang from any angle and it was bright & sunny around noon. Pretty sure it was 20% or better all the way around.

well finally got pulled over for tint. i have 3% in the back 32% front 2 32% on the whole sheild. cop was kinda sad looking when he checked the front 2 and they were not illegal, guess he did not think about the windshield?? LOL or i got lucky

What I plan to do on the Titan is a 6" strip of 5% then 35% the entire shield, if its done right you wont see a big enough seam to notice where the 35% goes over the 5% and there will be no way to tell its tinted.

Pull off the 5% then do it all in 35% then put a fresh 5% strip on top of that. You don't want the overlap and seam like that across the top of the windshield.

Every one I've seen done that wasn't a crappy job to begin with the seam was barely noticeable even if your looking for it. I may pull it off and do another one over it, but I'm seriously doubting it.

I may, but what I'm saying is from what I've seen if its done right then its not noticeable. I have a good friend who has been doing tinting for nearly 15 years, does the best work I've ever seen. Look at any of his jobs and I dare you to find a seam.

Look at any of his jobs and I dare you to find a seam. And he overlaps two layers of tint so there is air between the glass and the film at the seam? I don't think so. You lay the tint the other way so there is no seam like that.

I never said there was not a seam, I said its hard to see. Saying I dare you to find a seam wasn't meant to say there wasn't one anywhere. There is no point in arguing this anymore, you've stated your opinion, I've stated mine.

There is no point in arguing this anymore, you've stated your opinion, I've stated mine.I'm telling you no respectable tinter that guarantees his work would ever lay the smaller piece down first. You ever seen a professional tinter lay film over sun dots? If that happens then you have air around each dot...the same thing would happen with the window tint no matter how good the tinter is. The dots need to be removed first or spray tint is used. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of logic and common sense. All to save $5 or 10 if not free?

Look at my blue 96 GT, tinted over the dots and turned out perfect. Ask anyone that saw it. Had several comments on it being the best Mustang tint job they had ever seen. Takes time, but can be done.

Not a drop of glue was used, 91eflx was there during the tinting to vouch. Him, as well as Brian*, Roadster, and I'm sure a few others who saw it at the V and such can vouch for how it turned out.

Well shit who's this tinter? The guy I was going to go to was one of the first 3 guys in the world to do automotive window tinting but I'll go to yours if he's brave enough to put on Hüper Optik.
