Going from cruising at 80 or so in 6th to dropping it into 2nd by mistake? Thought I was in 4th  Anyways, let off the clutch and felt the back tires lock up and pushed the clutch back instantly. Didn't see how high the RPM went but all seems good, runs fine.

I can hit 62 MPH in 2nd before the rev limiter kicks in so???? Maybe not that bad?

Well, I believe you are alright meaning it is running fine... My buddy that bought my se-r from me, downshifted to 2nd instead of going into fourth at 90... Bye bye rocker arms...

These engines can safely run another 1000 or so RPM from the factory limiter and I doubt if it went past that so IDK. Just scares me.

If you constantly do that, I'd be very worried about your valvetrain. However, by the sound of things, you should be alright.

I've had that happen to my s2k, blew the head. As long as there is no ticks or car isn't skipping you should be good to go!

This is why driving instructors from the most basic beginner levels to advanced high-performance driving coaches will teach you that you NEVER skip gears, going up or down. It's too easy to lose track of which gear you're in when you start doing that, especially if you're tired or preoccupied.

But sounds like you're lucky, the clutch probably took much of the stress and saved your engine, combined with your quick re-clutching.

well i had a incident once, while riding on 5th gear doing 75mph and I somehow downshifted to 1st gear. check engine light came on, oil light started blinking. and even after that. it showed now signs of damage. few weeks later drove it from ATL to WIsconsin. and it just seemed like it wanted to give up like it got weak. So i replaced it with my spare motor. And found out my OIL pump gave up! 8D
