power steering

the days of removing perfectly functioning options from daily driven vehicles are long gone!

I've had both. It's hit or miss on liking it for me, but for the most part I prefer not to have it.

On a DA integra, I would definately take it off. Gives you more feedback and the car weighs like 2400 lbs... its not that hard to turn.

If the powersteering goes out on my F250... well then I'm screwed lol

power steering, keep that shit.
cause when you get tired of working out while driving your car slow around turns and shit, you will do what i'm doing, and start replacing all the shit that you threw away years ago.
then again, my current car has no AC and no heat(i bought a shell) and now i'm having to go thru all the trouble to replace the heating and p/s on the bitch.

On my first car, I had no PS. It wasn't a biggie most of the time, but it got old doing slow speed stuff. Also, when I ran slicks at autocrosses, the feedback was great but I would be out of breath at the end of a really technical run.

My current car has PS and I like it, especially since my car weighs ~1000 pounds more and is stock.

P/S only matters when you are going less than 20 MPH really because it is harder to turn when going slower because of the revolutions of the wheels blah, blah, blah. Power steering was really much more helpful when it was first invented when there was a much higher percentage of horrible roads that could easily pull a car off track. So, like Tran said, if you go to the gym and feel like driving your car home for a warm down, than take out your P/S. If you like to drive with your fingers, keep it. :2cents:

why not just remove the belt from the pump and decide what you want yourself?

on a small light honda that has a goal other than just a dd no p/s. just about anything else p/s.

no reason to take it off. unless your car is a race car. do you really need to cut that belt for like .5% power increase, and remove the pump for 15 pounds of less weight?
is it worth the time?

NO. also hurts the re-sale. not that steering a honda without PS is an issue, but those are the related issues that warrant not removing it.

as far as i know, my ap1 has electric power steering :)
