So yeah basically Lane (Sentra) got the cliff notes on the whole story and Alex (M3) saved me with his AAA so I got it towed back home for the freebie.
ONLY 1 RUN! :( but yeah Les (srt4/CRX) has one quick B16/CRX forsure!! (pulled me by 2 cars from 40-105, then end of race story from then on) I really hope it's not the tranny/clutch disc/PP because this is like the 3-4 time now; guess we'll find out soon.
I appreciate everyone coming out last night though even though it was literally freezing! Especially the people that made the far drive out (Tony, Les).
so it sounds like you need to do a good tranny this time. and and LSD. lol well get that shit back running, and obviously i would have been the slowest one there, but maybe next time ill come with a few more mods

Did the clutch clatter in neutral, and if it did, did it get louder as you put more miles on it? If so, my guess is that the splines on the clutch disk wore down them selves down aswell as the input shaft splines and now the clutch just spins around the input shaft. This is what happened to me the first time the sentra went down. I bought a shitty clutch, and it was recomended to me that I get an unsprung one since the springs in their sprung ones fall out. It clatered at first, but then got louder as it wore the trapizoidal splines into small sharp triangles on the disk and input shaft, which eventually turned into nothing. That happend within about 8k miles. I had to buy a new tranny and clutch. Got an open diff tranny and the same make clutch. This time I asked for a sprung one, they recomended a unsprung since the springs fall out. I told them I want the sprung one, because I'd rather have the clutch take a shit rather than the clutch take a shit and take the tranny with it. So I got a sprung one. Had a bit of clatter but was dampend by the springs. Over time the clatter got louder and after 10k or so took a shit. The splines were worn but not as bad. Though a spring fell out the clutch disc. Then as I just got the sentra up and running last week, I got an lsd tranny again, and rather then waste another 1500 on trannys and crap clutches and my time, this time I went with an exeddy. Runs perfect, sounds perfect, just like stock. Moral of my story is the clutches I went with which were the same as ACT, I believe had too lose tolerances between the disk splines and input shaft splines causing rapid wear and eventual failure of everything, which I believe happend to you. If I am not right, I'll buy you 2-3 gallons of 93.

I agree with you, though normaly I deal with 240's, and his (local dude) clutches for them were great, with sentras he had stated there were issues, which I went with him anyway from past experiences with the 240s, though after $1500, headackes and time, I said fuck it, no more dealing with this bs, and got one (for the sentra at least) that was tryed and tested.

You left and we waited for liek 15-20 minutes. It was cold and GaGen2Teg and I wanted to run. A few others left so after a few runs we caught them and had a 5 car run. I was actually surprised at how my truck did.
My horn comes in handy. :)

I was definately impressed by your truck. It damn sure moves. That was definately one loud horn, but I guess that's what a 200 psi train horn will do, lol.....

Snail, your story of the clutch issue sounds A LOT like mine. For the past 2-3 years I've got through 3-4 clutches; 1 being that the splines on the disc all rounded out & the other couple were from the springs popping out & lodging into the PP ruining it in the process. I haven't noticed anything strange from my current clutch setup until Monday night; I'm now running an ACT unsprung race disk + ACT HD PP so no springs to pop out this time. The tranny is coming out Friday so I'll be in for a treat, I really hope it's not the input shaft or it'll be tranny buying time for me :(

There was a good bit of clatter right? Depending on if you went with 1-2 of those sprung clutches on the same trans prior to the the unsprung one, there is a good chance the input shaft was a good bit worn before taking final blows from the unsprung one. I know right before mine took a crap, every once in a while, while down shifting it whould make a evil sounding whirl. A good amout of people would blame a bad throw out bearing for being the whirl noise, though it was a good bit louder and sounded more like teeth grinding with a whirl noise. Which a week later, after the clutch/trans took a crap, turned out to be the splines slipping while the throw out bearing remained good as new. I hope your trans input shaft is still good, and all you have to buy is a clutch, but from my experience with this crap from the sentra, I'd start looking for a transmission.

My current tranny has never seen an unsprung disk (don't know about before I purchased it though) until I put it in. I did put a new OE type throw out bearing in it & after a month when the clutch was released it'd make a loud whirly sound but I never got any more clatter than the 1st day I had it. Sounding like "teeth grinding" I'm not sure but the whirl at idle was definitely audible; no whirl during downshifts though. I've been looking for trannys on CraigsList already homes.

I got worried for a min today when those #'s popped up. I was like I know hes 200lbs lighter then me but how the fuck. I even searched google on what b16 put out with various mods it disturbed me that much lol. My guess is 165-175whp/105-115tq though I dont know shit about hondas.

My former company layed off all their interns 2weeks ago which included me, so I dont have the money for a tune or the 4-1 header I was eyeballing, but I can still free up 5-10whp and take out about 70lbs for free. Its just gonna be loud and have a 5" lift rather then a 4" lol.

I figure you are in the 165-175hp range, highly doubt your are around 190. The main thing you have going for you is weight...Get that thing tuned and you will notice a big difference, trust me.

With us being the neck and neck though out the powerband, and my car weighing within the range of 2200-2250 with 195hp, and you at 1995lbs, power to weight wise comes out that you have 173 and 177 respectivly. Anyway Im trying to go to the track tomorrow, but cant find 14" dragradials in stock anywhere. I might go with just my donuts, but my 60' is gonna be like 3sec lol. Either way its my first time at the track, wish me luck;)

Heh Not sure how much power you might have been down to a high Fuel pressure? But yeah man you're car is definitely strong from 0-75ish the lack of displacement really starts hurting you! But you learn to launch that thing you will wiping a lot of fast cars off the line!

Low fuel pressure huh? You're Fuel pressure guage was reading 85 psi.... I can assure you that's not a low fuel pressure... And plus that wouldn't be causing you to run lean... that would cause you to run rich... When you drop fuel pressure that's when you run lean. Where you running data logs on your car through your s200-300 whatever you said you had? Curious to know where you were getting your A/F's from. But yeah if you want to think it would be any different by all means go ahead.

We should set one up soon, maybe within the next month. I dont have reverse or 5th but Im gonna try to fix the shift linkage tomorrow, but if the time comes and we need to run with it not fixed, I can always open the door and roll my car back with my legs :D .

Yeah this new tranny has the 5th grear pop out, so my arm is frozen in its posture after driving for 1hr. As far as me and srt4banging: running, I misshifted once, and he got me. He misshifter twice and I got him those two times. We ran seveal times more with out either of us fucking up and were neck and neck. Neck an neck as in +/-1-2", I never witnessed runs so parallel. We are gonna run again once he gets his tune, though the sentra will be differeant aswell, so it will be interesting as far as who will pull who.

If that is how much you weigh ... I have a friend that weighs just about the same and makes just as much hp, and that race should be similar to ours... But I still don't see that happening.
so here are the numbers the way I see it.....
my car weighs in at 2540 with me in it and a quarter tank the last time I weighed it. It makes 210 to the wheels.
Your car weighs somewhere in the range of 2850 with you in it? Assuming you weigh somewhere around 150 and your car really does weigh 2700, and it makes 230. so lets see this....
2540/210 = 12.09
2850/230 = 12.39
and if i were to compare your race to my race with SRT's last night I would say they were relatively similar... close in second and third gears but pulling away on top end...
and he is somehwere around 2170 with 165ish hp to the ground.... maybe 170. and he comes out to
2170/170 = 12.76
and I pulled away from him on a decent pace.... I would say from what I remember some what comparable to the what you did on me... and for you to do something similar to this it would mean that your power to weight ratio would POSSIBLY need to be closer to that of, lets say.... 11.5. So that comes out to ....
2850/11.5 = 247.8
Now this number I would be much more likely to believe given the outcome of our race and the weight that you have stated your car. And it's an interesting number because its a very likely number if you had, lets say... Cams. Now I know not everything works out in real life the way it does on paper.... But I can assure you it comes out pretty close in the end... And can be a pretty good predictor to the way things work. So I trust my judgment and these rough calculations. Anyways... Till later days.
Oh and SRT you don't have a slow car by any means... It's strong point just isn't on top end! which in a drag race... when you are actually going from a dig, is not a bad thing! Get that shit tuned... put on some slicks... and get to the track. It's definitely good for AT LEAST low 13s.

Couple of things I'll throw in here. P:W ratio is the best thing to look at to accurately guess which vehicle is going to be faster from a roll, and is almost always the determining factor. However, there are a LOT of variables. You have gearing, aerodynamics, powerband, and dyno discrepancy to look at. 2 things that most people usually overlook are what a car's powerband is, and that a dyno number from shop A does not equal a dyno number from shop B. If you peak at 210hp, but only make that hp for 200 RPM's, and drop away from it very quickly.....that car may be slower than a car that can make 200hp for 600 - 700RPM's. Also, dyno's are all over the place. Even with correction, different days can give different numbers. If one car got completely cooled down and had a huge fan on it, that may make 10 or 15 more than a car that was still hot and didn't have as much cool air blowing on it. There are also no 2 dyno's that read the same. My car has been dyno'd at just over 500rwhp from the shop I got my work done at. However, I have taken it to a few dyno days and I literally have NEVER seen my car make 500 in person. Highest I've seen was an uncorrected 488 with a shop temp of 50 degrees (would have been lower if it was corrected). But when I'm on the street, people claim my car MUST be making more than 500.
Point being....the only accurate dyno, is the street dyno. That's the only way to settle this!

Nice. I need a real header rather then the ss auto crap Im running, though the one I want is 1k and the coilovers are 1k, with the spare money, I dicided on going with the suspension. Though when I get my tax return, I'll probably get my header unless my gf keeps whineing about not being married or ingaged for the past 10yrs.

I would come, though I checked my bank statment this morning, and had $428 till next month. Thats a 300+ a month drinking habit, though 2/3rds of a month remaining so $200+, leaving me with 228 for 20 days for food and gas which is like $10 a day. So in short, Im gonna have to marrinate a minute till I can afford it. I was good last month with a job an all, but now cant get what I want. Plus the gf is saying to get a job and stop drinking away the little money I do have. Now Im blabbering, but where Im getting at is I wont be able to come.
