what head gasket for a lsvtec.

You can use an OEM LS Head Gasket, but it may require some minor adjusting for the dowel pins, you'll have to drill to open it up a lil wider.

You wont have to modify the gasket you just need the Ls/vtec dial pins.You use the Oem B18a/b gasket and get the dial pins because the block is different from the head and dial holes for the head are smaller than for the block.

Even with that you'll still have to open the holes on the gasket for where the dowel pin go into place. Unless you spend the money and by the Golden Eagle one.

I had to do that for my friends LS/VTEC, LS head Gasket, but the holes are too small you have to open them up a lil bit for the dowel pins to snug in.

just buy a golden eagle head gasket man... the holes are already bored out the right size so no work is needed lightningmotorsports.com has them for a good price.

Just buy an oem Ls head gasket and buy the conversion dowel pins for the head, they sell them separately. Then you don't have to drill the head, or the gasket like the other guy is saying, But either way you have a few options, I'd just get the dowel pins. but FYI, if you use a dohc vtec b series gasket you'll have an oil leak on the oil return from the head/block on the #4 cylinder front side of the engine.

From Experience..I found that kms dowel pins has a better fitment. Golden eagle and full race's dowel pins, sometimes they are little small and sometimes bigger, so you gonna have to shave it down if it's bigger and if it's smaller be prepare for leaks because the head will shift. Use ls head gasket if it's for a ls block with standard bore, or b20 if it's a 84mm bore. All month long I have been doing ls/vtec motor builds at my shop.

all of the ones that I have used have been felpro the only thing is that u have 2 remove the copper rings that holds the multilayer gasket togeter other wise u will have a leak. never had problems out of them but I have always used arp head bolts, hold up good even under mild boost. best option is a cosmetic if $ is not an issue.
