okay so the Ground that goes from the Valve cover to the Frame is heating up and smoking every time the car turns over.... so i think the battery ground is wrong or something cause the frame is live whenever i turn it over  i am going to consult me haynes manual today when i get a chance but i would appreciate the help!

Wow!! I have never heard of this happening. There may also be a hot wire touching the valve or block, keep that in mind (starter).

Usually happens when the ground on the thermostat is not hooked up/loose, as well as the one on the transmission to chassis..

The engine is using that one small ground as the ground for the starter. You gotta remember how big the battery cable to the starter is and how much current goes through it. You should have a cable from the battery to the engine and one to the frame. And then the one from the V/C to the radiator support.

If you're getting 12v+ on the frame you have much bigger issues.
What it sounds like is really happening is that one of the other grounds aren't connected or don't have a good connection. Leaving one of the the grounds completely off should make the car not start. The ground from the core support to the valve cover heating up means that too much current is going through that wire.

lol, it grounds to the frame and to the tranny
should be all one wire...goes from the battery, to the frame and the tranny.

That first part of the Ground strap is just a support not part of the ground all it does is keep it from dangling :goodjob:

But the wire is not shielded at that point.
