GM and Chrysler Asking for billions more while Ford says that it can make it through 2009 without additional help. If ford can do it, why not the other 2? Getting kinda of tired of handing out billions.

Because

1) Ford was able to preserve more cash liquidity back in 2007 and 2008.
2) Ford has a more diversified market, made most of the money from China and Europe
3) Ford made money through selling compact cars instead of stupid big trucks that consume monstrous amount of fuel
4) GM and Chevy are way BEHIND the times in terms of their business model
5) Auto companies need TIME to build up strong foundations so bailing them out can only simply extend their lifeline.

In short, THEY HAVE TO GO BANKRUPT for all the taxpayers sake

Ford had foresight and started cutting jobs before anyone else, this allowed them to store up alot of cash. They were also smart enough to NOT dump their best selling vehicles while GM dumped the S-10 and the Camaro. Ford is also a car based manufacturer while GM is truck and SUV based. The same is true for Mopar, hence the reason they are having the same issues.

I don't know why it seems like manufactures bet on one car to save them. One car can't save a brand....

Look at chrysler. Everyone and their mom bought a 300/charger/magnum, yet they are still in the shit. Mostly because they waste money building horrible cars like the dodge caliber and nitro, and the jeep compass.

This should really anger EVERYONE. The billions already invest in GM and chrysler by the gov't will not be recovered. Now they are asking for more! Id rather see the money support every day people than these guys.

they said they could take the economic plan (i refuse to say stimulus its a govt shopping list) and write every man woman and child a check for like 2500 bucks. personally id rather have that. and the automakers are failing because of the unions. i mean these guys would rather lose a job than take a pay cut. idiots.

If they wrote everyone a check for that, inflation would skyrocket. that would be BAD. But I say let GM fail if they cant do a proper financial plan

i wonder what makes the ones giving them money think they will help this time, when in the past, they have proved they can not handle their finances. If you can't handle your business and keep it going when you were a big company like GM, honestly, i think you deserve to go down. They proved that they are not able to balance their money properly.

What makes you think they care about saving any of the big 3? This bailout is meant to keep them out of bankruptcy and to protect the unions. If GM, or the others, were to go into bankruptcy they could use that as leverage to dump the union contract in favor of a more practicle one. Politicians are owned by the unions so they will do whatever they need to do to keep that union contract in place.

They just need to stop building new concepts and cars and just focus on what they have.

I say let em all fail, they have built gas guzzling POSes since time began. sure they have to pay the money back, but do you have any idea how long it will take them to pay back 22 million bucks??? I mean fuck c'mon. Lets concentrate on fixing the real god damn problems like hmm I dont know the fact that thousands of people stream across the border each month and we dont do shit about it. The fact that the president said he would not have lobbiest in "his" white house but hmmm that sure seems like what is going on. I mean jesus fuck this shit is getting out of hand!! Lets put 1 trillion dollars into perspective if i spent $1000.00 a day it would take 2 million years to spend $1,000,000,000.00!!! Or better yet how about this NY Senator Chuck Schumer (D) " Why quibble of $200 million?" then latter stated " Americans never cared about all of those 'porky admendments'." This is the problem with our gov't they for some reason under the impression that they can fix the problem we are in now ( cause by the massive amount of debt we are in now) by Taking out a bigger fucking loan. anyone else have a problem with this rational?
sorry /rant

Yes, Ford is winning Chevy, but there's nothing to be proud of.

Toyota, Honda, etc all these automakers are all losers in general.

Overall, the only automakers who seem "victorious" are the Korean automakers like Kia and Hyundai who are promoting for cheap cars with additional unemployment benefits along with their packages.
