Just wondering what fluid should i use for a ITR tranny. i got 1 quart of GM Syncromesh and 2 quarts of 10w-30 motor oil. Can i use motor oil? or do i have to use gear oil. and the 2 quarts of 10w-30 motor oil is advanced auto parts brand. lol

Just use the synchromesh/oil combo.

I personally run straight 80w90 in my trannys, makes it shift like butter....(after warm up)

Hondas can temperamental to certain fluids. I would run OEM honda fluids.

honda mtf or synthetic 10w30. i've only used synthetic 10/30 in my trans and it has 140k+ miles on it. the owners manual says honda mtf or synthetic 10w30.

Honda MTF or Redline MTL. If the trans doesn't see a ton of stress, the OEM stuff is pretty good. If you have a high trq setup and the shear wear on the fluid is high, the Redline stuff is great to resist this.

Screw the owners manual and I have used GM Syncromesh for about 9 years without any issues!!!!

Either GM mesh with a 10w30
or OEM fluid

it will take 2 quarts dont over fill!

im going to buy the 2 quarts of friction modified gm syncromesh and another quart of the regular gm syncromesh. so 2.3 quarts to fill.

Watch out though, some MTs like the Tremec TR6060 use ATF. Why do they do that anyway?

We are talking about a HONDA they use motor OIL

and the reason why is because some trannys uses Brass, and other metals that can only use certain fluids or it can eat the brass an damage the trannys...So certain fluids is NOTED
