I have been discussing with a guy to buy his car in north carolina. He said i woould have to come up on a week day, and would have to go to the DMV to sign stuyff over to actually purchase the car ??? can anyone explain the north carolina private selling process to me ??

Don't know why. You should be able to take care of tags and all that at your local DMV. Aside from going to get the car, I see no other reason to go up there. Later, QD.
