r71's 1098S with lots of CF. All of the bodyswork is CF (yes, he painted the upper and the tail already). Wheels are BSTs (CF). Ohlins suspension, and much more. This is kind of an old pic, it has more now. He also has a 996 with lots of goodies, but I don't have any good pics of it right now. This is just his street bike, not his track bike.

I think I may know who he bought the parts from, unless he made them himself. Those wheels are sex. Srsly.

I bought the bodywork. It was from a shop in Cali. The bodywork alone was $6K. The wheels came through Indy Superbikes, and were another $4K. I have the same set on my R1.

I don't really see the point in dumping alot of money into bikes. They become so outdated in 5 years. And for some reason bikes don't look nearly as cool as cars of the same era. The seem to age faster or something.

Ducati's are a bit timeless IMO. Even the older ones have a wow factor to them, if you see a super clean one then for sure.

Why not? Bikes do things other than street ride too. Why not upgrade so you can go to the track and be faster?

They become so outdated in 5 years.

Bike expert will disagree. There are certin machines that never get old. I would take an 04-05 ZX10 over any that came after.

And for some reason bikes don't look nearly as cool as cars of the same era. The seem to age faster or something.

Ducati 916, MV F4, Honda RC30, and RC45.......Disagree again.

I know we are all about opinions and to each his own but you really come off as someone that doesn't know much about bikes.

Me either....i'd go with 2008 Le Mans colors.

prefer the stock red? What about the Martini one they brought out to the Superbike races last year?

Maybe a shot of the real bike is better?

I see where you could say that I don't know much about bikes, but I've been to no less than 50 world superbike, WERA, Moto GP, and AMA races along with shows in between.

In my opinion, bikes lose their appeal faster than cars. With cars their cool factor comes back with a drop and some ncie wheels. But if you're riding an older bike it takes alot more work to be nice.

In my opinion of course :goodjob:

That's up for debate. I'm feeling the Haga graphics. I hope you don't ride like him :lmfao:

Granted. I guess i just like older things for their novilty. I realize a modern 600 will run cirlcles around the older 750s but they still hold their place well in history.

Ouch.

We'll see what 09 brings. He's on Tardozzi's bike now so im sure he will be in the running for the title. I think Ben Spies will still be learning the circuits and the BMW/Aprilia are not ready. I think Max on the Suzuki is 2nd favorite otherwise.

We'll see. Go #41! :taun:

David88vert

Should have started with the "R" model

Why? He had a 1098 that he sold and got the S, then yanked all of the S parts off. If he had started with the R, he would have yanked all of the R parts off. He was looking to put a set of Desmo forks on the bike at first, then changed to stay with Ohlins.

So, he didn't go for it then. Get the G35. You can buy a Duc later.

No, if it only had like half the miles, I would of had a tri colored 1098s Duc with 2100 miles.
