if you're talking about arcade reqs, just turn it off and beat the arcade mode on medium w/ all the characters to unlock the hidden characters and trophies (PS3)/ achievements (360)

I found a somewhat easier way to beat Seth on medium/hard:

usually he starts out with Dhalsim's arm attack so I just block from the very beginning and then he does Guile's sonic boom (1x or 2x w/ varying speeds) so jump diagonally or vertically over them.

he'll do this for awhile then he'll most likely teleport or try to suck you in so just keep jumping diagonally backwards to avoid him. at one point he'll teleport right next to you and that's when you should attack.

attack once and don't go crazy and jump back away. keep blocking and jumping and attacking once then back off again. near the end he'll try to do his super/ultra combo on you where he'll suck you in no matter where you are. just try to cancel it out by doing a sweep and/or try to do a low P or K. sometimes you're able to block it but don't count on it. if you keep avoiding his attacks and just go in for a single attack when he's vunerable you should be able to beat him on medium or hard after being frustrated as hell the first couple times.

Me(sagat) & this one guy(ryu) online were going at it back and forth for a few hours but eventually he kept focus and took advantage in the long run. Online is fun! I could play anyody moves wise but it was between ryu and sagat. haha good times

If you play online, prepare to block low almost every attack because I've been noticing this trend of people sweeping after every move following a super/ultra combo finish. that shit is annoying and no matter what I do it seems like there's no way out of it

has anyone found a strategy against these types of players? because I've looked on shoryuken.com and I think I'm a decent player but haven't found anything to defend against these players besides trying to use my focus attack but Ken players use their flaming shoryuken to repel it

I agree. Ken is just easy to play and his moves look good. Ken and Ryu are the easiest characters to play if you are new to the SF series or not really good at SF.

If you're quick enough, you can use a focus attack again before they hit you twice since two hits/special move will knock out a focus attack. This game is more advanced then what'd you call *basic*. Combo's and Tactics are out there to learn and utilize. I've seen some people who fight hardcore and some people who just use a regular high kick and high punch and still win the fights. Best SF thus far!

The thing with the Gouken, is that those arent parry's those are counter attacks. Im familiar with the focus attacks, its great, but its no parry system. Its a good fighting game, but compared to snk vs. capcom 2...its very basic. balrog was my fav character, only because he was fun to play with. Everyone else i played with seemed to be limited to the same moves. Im a 360 owner! i cant fuck with that playstation thingie... :D

It was all unnecessary fluff that took away from the heart of the game. Don't get me wrong, I can play Alpha 3 and what-not as well, but SFIV brings out the best in the franchise IMO. :goodjob:

i dont mind air blocking beng gone, but if you do that you have to balance the characters out accordingly. And its not very balanced..

But the thing is, i think is what went wrong for me is, that they took out alot of the defense mechanics, BUT added more offense mechanics.. which is what bothers me. Good game.. but didnt do it for me.. :no:

SFIV is originated from the first series with very detailed graphics, a very detailed fighting system that has combos that will do more and connect more to deal massive damage. You can simply do a combo with both the super and ultra if you can connect and majority of your life will dissappear. I like SFIV better because it is up to date and never bores me. Without the online feature; I'd probably be bored of fighting the cpu. I wouldn't say SFIV is a basic game but it will be a classic to what the future will bring us in the future.

If they could make a ps3/xbox360 version of snk vs capcom2 and detail it a bit. It would be awesome but it would take alot of legalization and $$$$$ to make it happen.

In MvC2, I like Charlie more than Guile. Those are just my favorite 2 characters in SF. I agree, Gouken sucks. Cammy's alternate costume #10 is her best one.

Yea, Guile is the SHIET; It seems like I have more control over him then any other character. He only has 2 moves but he IS hard to control during a real fight. I met this guy online last night and he thought he was the shiet with all the Ken Masters but he couldn't do Guiles Super's nor Ultra's. HAHA He felt shiet faced when I controlled the Ken Masters and Guile better. But yea, Guile has moves that are fully point blank only. His round-house is tricky and if they opponent does a crouch block, I can break that using Guiles collar bone punch attack. Guile has one of the fastest fireball's, especially his EX one and his flash kicks are fast; they can easily hit an opponent first if someone tries to shoot a fireball at you while you're trying to get up from a knockdown right near them. Using a MP or MK during a combo will give you enough time to perform his super's or ultra's in motion. Utilizing your tactics and finding the right timing and strategy will help you find your perfect character for offense and defense.

Ken and Ryu are too easy to use; Dan is hella fun though especially when I use his Goku costume or his alternates. Cammy and Chun-Li are just freaking too hott to use, I'd rather rape in a fight. :D

I can't remember if a Bison has beaten my guile or any character I had used before. If someone know's how to use Bison, He's pretty much predictable when fighting a Bison. I think Guile would have a advantage because he can cover both aerial and ground very well. What I do is, I crouch while I am charging so my Guile doesn't look predictable and if the rival jumps, I'd flash kick or jump towards him to throw him down. If he doesn't jump while I am crouch charging, I'd shoot a QP sonic boom and run along with it to corner the rival and pummel him with punches and kicks and sonic booms. If I do my double roundhouse, majority of the people I've fought think Guile has a opening spot to attack after his last roundhouse swing; so while in motion right after his last roundhouse attempt, I'd do a double flash or ultra only if I see them attemptn a attack on me. :D It all depends on how my rivals fight; Ill change it up as I see fit. But I hate fighting Blanka though; I'd have to focus more to avoid his electricity and keep my distance. Other then that, I'm not the best but so far, Guile is my man; U.S.A!

If I do my double roundhouse, majority of the people I've fought think Guile has a opening spot to attack after his last roundhouse swing; so while in motion right after his last roundhouse attempt, I'd do a double flash or ultra only if I see them attemptn a attack on me. :D It all depends on how my rivals fight; Ill change it up as I see fit. But I hate fighting Blanka though; I'd have to focus more to avoid his electricity and keep my distance. Other then that, I'm not the best but so far, Guile is my man; U.S.A!

Before I bought this game for my PS3 everyone said it was awesome and I had always liked SF games. So I got it then I felt suckered because the graphics on the characters suck ass, why are there so many people say that the graphics on it is awesome when it sucked ass??

I've cleared everyone to at least Level 2. Sakura, Dan, Ken, Ryu, Akuma, and a few others are done through Level 3. The chains in Level 4 are tough though. I usually end up short by one combo that I can't pull off. Oh, Cammy is done through Level 5 since hers were rediculously easy.

Time Trial
Full Gold up til Level 10. Been too lazy to do more since the counts keep going up. lol

Survival
Gold through Level 6 and Level 9 is a Gold. Others are Silver. Done through Level 13.

Unlocked another trophy this morning. 43% now. If I can get 200 Battles and 100 Wins down online, I'll be happy. I have all the other Online Trophies (3 wins in a row, 5 wins in a row, 10 wins in a row, 100 Battles, 50 wins, ect...).

These Ken players are growing on my nerves though. All they do is fireball, fireball, fireball then when you jump they do the Shoryuken. :tongue1:
