View Full Version : 2000 civic wont go past 5k rpms

i have a hx civic 2000 and motor was bad so i put a y7 motor in it... i never mess with obd2 + cars so i dont know anything about it.......... but i cant get it to rev pass 5k parked or rolling. im thinking its bc the stock ecu is for the vtec motor and im currently running a non vtec is there any way i can make it work without swapping ecu (if thats the problem) because im doing a mini swap soon as delsol fixed????????????// any help be super appreciated reps to all

Is there a CEL on? if so, your computer is most likely in safe-mode. Check out what code the ecu is throwing, then go from there.

yea its on, i got to get it checked but i know its throwing vtec code and o2 sensor code already

Yes fix the problem, you might have a plug , plugged into the wrong sensor

ok i fixed the problem........... if anyone ever has this prob it was just what i thought u cant use a vtec comp on a non vtec motor or vise versa ALL I HAD TO DO TO FIX IT WAS HOOK UP MY SPARE VTEC SOLENOID..............
