s2k soft top repair?

got a small rip. gets worse every time the top goes down. obviously, i dont take the top down since.

i bought a vinyl/top repair kit from advance(the only thing they had), and havent tried it yet.

any ideas on the best thing short of replacing the entire top? rip is about 1 inch..

You can patch it from the inside, the BEST thing to do is look around inside the top towards the rear deck, you will see extra material. Its OKAY to take SOME of this by cutting it out, once you see the excess youll know what i mean. From the inside, use permanent flexible glue and voila. just make sure that it sticks good.

well..are your latches locked when you let it down...they should be people do it all the time. its a 9 hour job if you havent replaced one before...well flat rate it pays 9 under warranty and about 13 for customer pay...thats if you go to a dealer and most wont do them. ours does and the labor rate is 95 and hour I think so its expensive no matter...but if you buy a new top i might be able to hook you up let me know
