Of course, everyone is. Anyone that denies it is either lying or doesn't realize it.

Does it affect my day-to-day life? NO. I don't think about it, ever.

All of you, wait until you are older, with a family, kids and a wife. A life, built throughout the entirety of your life, and tell me you don't fear losing it all. Tell me you don't mind NOT waking up next morning to this. Tell me you don't mind it just "ending".. Tell me you don't mind leaving all your loved ones that depend on your support behind.. Tell me you don't mind becoming lifeless matter in a coffin..

If you know what you've got coming after death, and you truly believe that everything will work itself out back here on earth among the living, then what's there to be scared of?

I'll admit that I am. I can get into these deep thoughts about it and I'll just start freak out and start pacing around in a circle or two, kinda go crazy for a couple of minutes, lol. Kinda funny if you ask me. But I try not to think about it.

I am an atheist, I do not believe in any kind of afterlife or reincarnation. Am I afraid of dying? No. Do I want to die? NO!

I am afraid of being gutted and watching my guts fall to the floor while I am still alive, now that would suck.

No, not everyone, but I'm a special case. You see, I've been clinically dead for over 5 minutes both times. I've been dead...I've been there. I'm honestly not afraid. I don't wanna die right now at this point in my life given my wife and whatnot, but I'm definitely not afraid of death or dying. If it comes for me again, so be it. I'll face it head on yet again.

If you want to get in details I simply think death is nothing. When you go to sleep each night, do you remember the moment you fell asleep? Would you know if you never woke up? I don't believe you would. To me, death is just sleep. You just never wake up to know you never woke up.

Based on that I can say, death isn't scary. Dying is. Knowing you are about to visit that unknown void. That is scary, but death itself? Just go to sleep...

Well I'm sure you can feel when you die...my head went thru the windshield twice at around 75 mph the first time and about 40-45ish the second time if that makes any since. i was going down a back road, yes speeding like a tard, went thru a turn that is not balanced right, car under steered and went straight. causing me to hit a bank at a angle making my car launch into the air and sorta barrel roll flip twice before slaming into a power pole knocking it up out of the ground and in half. i hit the winshield once when i hit the bank then again when i hit the power poll. not saying i have been thru worse than others but still trippy. cause when i felt my car heading into the bank all i could think was o shit o shit fuck here we go... then im crawling out of the driver side window. shit seems like it takes for ever tho...

People are supposedly afraid of the unknown. (I agree)

Death is THE ultimate unknown.

Either you are afraid of death, You are in denial, or you are too stupid to understand yourself as a Human.

Does that mean you let fear control your life, NO!

The fleeting nature of human existence, and the tragedy of death, is what defines the significance of human life.

So fear death, yes. Let the fear control you, No.

I'm only afraid of people dying around me: friends, family, or strangers and will do anything to prevent it whether it's a risk to myself or not.

On the other hand, if someone is disrespectful to those around me I have no remorse for what may happen to them.

Well this is a poll. So any answer that starts w/ "everyone IS" seems that those people are insecure w/ the fact that THEY are scared of it and want others to join them in that fear. I talked about this in my blog --- I should have been dead already - 10 times over. I am not in ANY form scared of death.

AnthonyF

Yes I am. When it happens I wish for it to be instantly. Not this lying in bed slowly dying bullshit.

I am a Catholic but have slowly drifted away from the church and I dont feel there is an after life I believe you die...and you lay in a box. That's it. Your reign and terror on earth is at an end...and there is no more of you. Once your children or your grandchildren pass, you are even more dead b/c now NO1 remembers you.

Yes I am. Even though you KNOW its going to happen, you don't know when or how. Furthermore, whether you are religious or not, you don't REALLY know what happens when, or rather, after you die. When wrecked my car, I had the thought of dying. All I saw was a tree and a ditch. I thought the worse, scared shitless I tell you. Thats not near as bad as the accidents in this thread, but you get the point.

I'm scared, I think, because I have a lot left to do on earth.

I'm not constantly fearing that I might die-- I don't have any regrets, and I've done the best I can so far and I'm happy with who I am.

However, I do not look forward to dying, for two reasons: first, I hate missing out on things and I know that on my deathbed (if I'm lucky to die so comfortably) I'll be thinking of the future, and wonder what I'm not going to get to see happen.

Second, I don't like leaving people I care about unattended for; I feel like, if something bad has to happen in life, I can handle it-- I can carry the burden, endure the pain; I don't want it to fall on the people I care about. When I'm on the way out, it will hurt not to be able to play that role any longer, to protect people.

I don't think I'm scared of death exactly, but I sure as hell don't want to go through it (not that many people do). I'm zero percent religious, so I believe that I've only got so many days before my number comes up-- I just don't want to go.
