After going back and forth on what car i wanted, from a vette to a CTSV, maybe a G8, etc etc etc i couldnt make up my mind. I really just didnt want to spend $2x,xxx on a car right now with the way the economy is and such. Owning your own business there is def a risk of not knowing where your next paycheck is going to come from.

My dad drove this , he was gonna trade it in on his new car, i decided to buy it from him. I got it for well under trade in, prob drive it till this summer and trade it in for some positive equity on whatever i end up buying.

i always like rx8's but my friend bought one and it would die at every redlight and you would have to put octain booster in it to even get it to run. it was still under warranty and they said it was a rotary thing. are you having anything like this with your's?

sorry but you have lost your mind lol

My uncle owns and FD, and its 100 times faster than the RX8. Not even in the same class. The FD makes around 260-270whp EASY if the turbos are good and it has a FAT powerband.

THe RX8 is like a honda, very peaky, an no TQ. Id bet it makes like 190whp.

I mean compared to other cars in its class, its not fast. My roomates G35 would put a beat down on it IMO

The dealership lied. my 25 year old rotary car can stay running at every light and runs on 87 octane fuel. I bet your friend's 8 had a knock sensor or tuning issue.

hit redline every now and then to do a carbon build-up blow out. Rotaries need a good redline carbon flush about once a month or so (or if you want to be REALLY safe, or just have a hell of a lot of fun driving, once a day) but only do it on a warm engine. Also, be aware you just purchased a car that burns oil, so keep on top of the oil levels, lastly, let it idle for 30 secs to a minute before you drive it, so that you're not driving on a completely cold engine.

Put your foot in it at least once every two days. If you don't get on it and really drive the car, you're going to start getting a lot of carbon buildup (over time of course), but that something you definitely don't want that. I redline once a day. Never had any engine problems.

yeah, people can flood Rx-8s to the pint of not starting just by backing out of their driveway, and turning it off, let it warm up to normal operating temperatures before ever turning it off, the cold engine is bad at fuel management and it's dumping tons of extra fuel to warm up faster, a quick turn off in the middle of this and you've drenched your plugs and you're not getting spark.

Fuckin a, it seems that the newer the rotary the more issues there are. My FC is pretty solid only issue is surging every once and a while. FD's seem to be plagued with shit, and i just don't even like the look of the 8, too rounded, too quiet, not aggressive enough looking. Looks like a fag car IMO.

the oil is changed regularly, i had it changed on saturday though.

Im gonna have the plugs and wires replaced tomorrow.

The car is solid, no real isssues with it. I do know about the letting it warm up before you shut it off, rev it up before you shut it off etc. I mean i drive it hard occasionally, but im not beating the ever loving shit out of it, i dont want to fix it if it breaks lol

shit then its the fastest 225whp i have ever felt. My uncle has RSR exhaust and some intake system, and thats it, and that car is much faster than those numbers.

I also thought they underrated the FDs from the factory for insurance issues
