Hey fellow IA'rs, my job has posted a job opening for a volunteer co-ordinator. I will post the opening here, & you can feel free to check it out for yourselves at www.medshare.org (http://www.medshare.org/) , or PM me for any further info.
The last person I know of made around/under $12 an hour. So please don't quote me on that. lol

Volunteer Programs Coordinator
Description: Assists the Volunteer Programs Manager and other Volunteer Programs Staff with sorting sessions as well as day to day administrative duties.
Reports To: Volunteer Programs Manager
Type of Position: Part-Time
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead group volunteer sorting sessions of medical supplies
Give orientation to volunteers on MedShare and on specific volunteer task instructions
Provide support and guidance to volunteers
Move material as appropriate in and out of sort room
Prepare for sorting sessions, including: ensure requisite materials (labels, boxes, tape, triwalls, etc.) are available, set up categories for second sorts, prepare product to be sorted
Post-sorting session work, including: move sorted items out of sort room, break down second sorts, dispose of trash and expired items
Assist in sort of tools and instruments
Enter volunteer information into the volunteer tracking database
Research medical items
Provide other support as needed to Volunteer Programs department, including:
Scheduling groups
Answering volunteer inquiries
Preparing reports
Coordination of volunteer activities with other MedShare departments
Create letters for certification of hours for individuals or groups
Tidy up break room/sort room
Stock break room with snacks and drinks for volunteers
Support special events
Work on special projects as needed and other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required level of education: high school graduation
Ability to work flexible schedule including weekdays, evenings and weekends
Lifting requirements (maximum amount of weight): 50 lbs.
Must have a friendly disposition and a willingness to interact with diverse groups of people.
Hard working and eager to learn.
Previous medical training is a plus.
