For me, im torn in between the 70's and the days of Knights. I love the thought of traveling and camping out. The days of villages and that sort of life. Then on the other hand I'm interested in seeing what it was like to live the life of the 70's. You know, the true generation of drugs, sex, and rock and roll. Anyways just a small thought as i sit here drinking relaxing. What if your thoughts of your idea of a time you would of like to live?

I guess not even one you guys remembers the oppression of the church during the middle ages (dark ages).
Hey at least back then you two wouldn't need an excuse for not being able to read.

I really don't think I would like to live in a time period where there was no advances in modern medicines so I'd have to say the 60's or 70's where at least I could self medicate and no one was none the wiser

I would like to live in the 40's-60's. My father tells me stories from back then and it just amazes me. Yeah, they didn't have the technology back then, but they found useful things to do with their lives. You also didn't have to worry as much back then about murderers, rapists, etc...People werent as crazy, kids didn't shoot up schools.
Also, 40's-60's music... :goodjob:

Not anytime in the past. I couldn't live without a computer. Maybe somewhere further in the future.
Hippi days. Peace and Love :D

depends on my age. If i'm an adult, i'd love to live in the 50s. Seriously, 50s housewives had it sweet.
If i'm a teenager or 20something, early 90s.

I would be really wanting to see the world before the Industrial Revolution, to see what color the sunrise really would be, and to see the clarity of the night sky.
That, and I would want to live far enough in the future that I could own a lightsaber and build a pod racer.

LOL
QFT. The life of a peasant was pretty fuckin harsh too. Pretty much all they had to eat was porridge (like grits but even more flavorless because salt was too expensive) and whatever organs/gristle the higher classes didn't want (haggis, anyone?). Ever had meat with no salt? It sucks! And when they went into battle they had to fight those armored knights with spears and clubs. And for body armor you got a shirt with some metal plates sewn in it, if you were even that lucky. Good times.
And I haven't even discussed the bubonic plague... which killed like 40% of the entire population of Europe. Or about how blood-letting was the dominant medical practice, followed closely by amputation.
If I had my choice of times/places I would probably choose the late 40's/early '50's. It'd be cool to be around at the same time as Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Dizzy Gillespie, Johnny Cash and Elvis in the Sun Records days, the beat writers, etc etc

the 80's
why? I think the music really puts the 80's in perspective, for me at least. Just seemed like a happy/do everything sort of time...
§treet_§peed
02-04-2009, 02:10 PM
^ technically the pa happy/do everything time was the 70's, unless your talking about homosexual things starting to happen. then yeah the 80's would of been that time.
