I think for the price of type-Rs might as well just get aftermarkets. And headers I say get some from Vteckidd they seem to be pretty cheap if the dynos are real then its a cheap spend for a decent gain.

ctr's would be ideal for a nice set of cams due to the compression. Have you considered using skunk2 tuner series (not pro series)?
Toda spec A's make decent power on a b16 too, I think I've seen 170-180ish on honda-tech. Yes I know they are outdated, but they have been proven.
As far as clearance goes, just clay your motor if you're worried about valve to piston clearance.

Good info.
Don't over due it on the cam homey. You said you got the head built... did you the head milled??? If you did, too much cam is just hoping to get clearance issues. Stick with proven shyt, and you'll be very happy with a STREETABLE built motor. :goodjob:

Run of thumb...
Never go into a b16 block. It's not worth the outcome. So if you plan to rebuild something atleast get a cheap $100 LS block and use your b16 head.
Now to get the most out of a stock bottom end b16, I would buy every bolt-on you can possibly get.
-ITR intake manifold and TB
-3in intake with velocity stack
-Toda header (or a knockoff Toda header) Do not get a 1.8L+ header like the one Vteckidd sells (don't take this the wrong way Mike just trying to help dude make power out of his 1.6)
-Test Pipe and 2.5in exhaust
Then you can work on the head with
-Cams (CTR, Buddyclub III, Skunk2 stage 1) Those work with stock valvetrain
or
(Skunk2 stage 2 or Buddyclub IV) with aftermarket valvetrain
There's other cams out there like JUN or Toda, but they aren't worth the price.
-Valve job and port work
The most important mod you can do is get tuned also. So plan to convert to obd1 and get tune.
The best thing about all of that, you can transfer everything over to another motor once you decide to upgrade (which you will decide to do ;) ) Hopefully that helps.

Just fyi
I made 156hp/110lbs 2 years ago on Mainstream's Dyno, untuned (obd0) with just bolt-ons, and a CTR intake cam/b16 exhaust cam revving to 8200. Now with the CTR exhaust cam, new exhaust, and finally some tuning, I hopefully I can touch 165-170hp or atleast make 115-120lbs of tq LOL.

Before my B16 spun a bearing (running nitrous) in like 05-06 (before you made 156 whp), it put down 150whp/110tq on Mainstream's Dyno tuned (OBD0) but I had slightly less mods too. Anyway point is that it's still slow & that you will not make 165-170hp with 115-120tq!

It's possible
I talked to a heavy hitter (I'll leave his name out) on the board about an old b16 build (stock bottom end) he did in the past. He was able to get 175hp (but less than 120lbs tq) out of his b16 with less mods than me (but a slightly bigger cam). So power is possible with the right tuner ;)
Also, Guy made 148hp with just a header and exhaust. So it's about quality too ;)

And to answer your original question, you shouldn't run into any problem running ctr pistons in a b16 block

Dude you dont have anything to worry anything with type r cams.
....you wouldn't even have issues running some BC spec Vs...
the biggest thing when running big cams is timing. Almost anything will work as long as everything is at 0 degrees.... it's when you start advancing and retarding stuff is when you can run into clearance issues.
...just my experience
