Ask yourself this question.

Do I want to be able to take off at the jump and get hawked down at the topend, or do I want to get a car or so put on me at the start and hopefully come back by the end of the race. Well thats the result when typical ls and b16 swap cars run. The ls jumps and the b16 comes back near the end (if the mods are close to being the same and the swaps are in the same chassis).

i've seen numbers of a ls/vtec/cr/vtec and its almost yields the same numbers as a VTEC engine..i'd just go w/ a VTEC out of the box

i'd do a b18c1 w/ a b16 trans IMHOthis is the route i would go with.

i just never really have been a fan of the b16, just doesn't have the low end tq. although, when built, you can have a fucking crazy high redline.

Yea, the GSR 5th is just enough to drop it down a bit to get the extra. I cruise around town in 5th gear, using 4th might help me, but oh well. lol

that b16 trans is a fukin beast son i swear...if money is tight either to the ls or crv swap(i prefer the crv-b20) w/ the b16 trans..thats if money is a issue:goodjob:

Yes, the B16 lacks torque but you just have to get use to it; learn to utilize it's powerband since it lacks power anywhere out of VTEC + a VTEC motor will have more potential than a B18A/B.

This is assuming you only have 2 choices: B16 or B18A/B.

edit: that would be the setup i would run with, IF you plan on going all motor, but for a boosted application, then gsr or ls/v with b16 trans.

on the other note, i'm done threadjacking, haha.

If you're boosting you don't want the short gears of a B16 tranny...
