if you don't hate it, what are you doing that makes it better? did you take a break from school after high school or during college?

and what do people think of SPSU? i need to get the FUCK out of perimeter. its like a glorified high school and its really starting to tax my nerves!!! Is SPSU any better? and i dont care if the guy:girl ratio is 1000:1, im basically married anyways.

What is SPSU?

I loved and miss school. Trust me, college is better than the real world.

I hate this semester with a passion. Have to take Art History (one of the classes from area b that is required, and film was full :() and statistics (which is like retard math). Its the most boring 2.5 hours ever. The only thing that makes up for it is that I have two online classes and they're pretty easy. But they too are fairly boring and seem to drag on =\.

SPSU = Southern polytechnic state university.

All...most of you seem like you have taken a break or there is some gap between the time you left high school and college. Does it make you want to be there?

I actually went to college straight from high school, graduated, started working, and now I want to go back. I finished in May 2006. I want to go back b/c I want to shift my career slightly, lol. To me, learning is fun, if the topic is interesting.

I didn't take a break out of highschool. I took a slacker year at Georgia Southern, and then manned the fuck up.

Got a real job up here in Marietta. I actually go to Southern Poly. Its not bad. Parking is nice, like a 1/4 mile from any class. Kinda nice considering others.

The campus police are assholes tho. I am going to court with them about something.

I didnt take a break. I graduated high school at 17, graduated from UT at 21. Im now 22 and have a good job, but I really hope I don't get wedded to the money because I plan on going back for my masters and worry that because I continue success, I won't do it.

I love school. Went straight to college after high school although family *stuff* pushed me back a little I enjoy learning and writing so I don't have a problem with it as long as I don't have to talk about math anymore lol.

I'm just ready to get all the way into my profession and school kinda gets in the way at times but I know I need to finish so gotta do what I gotta do.I wouldn't have been able to do certain things if it wasn't for being a student. Study abroad and learning japanese. Its not all bad.

LOL wtf......whining about school....... school is the most fun and easy period in your life. Once you start working and have some RESPONSIBILITIES, you will wish to go back to college times of being careless and free.

I went all the way to the Master's Degree and loved every minute of it. If you have the money, I would actually suggest going to College in another state. Not only will you make new friends, but you will enjoy yourself better, learn to live on your own, and learn to interact by living on the dorms. Way better and less distraction with family 'n stuff. I actually went to FIU in Miami and boy did I party. It was a good balance between learning and partying. Party every week end. Doing beer runs. Strip clubs, Dorm raids, Actually ENJOYING spring breaks, going to the beach etc. Wish I could do that now.

And the education in the USA = SOOO EASY. There is no reason to just suck it up, and finish. Heck I did my Master's in 5 semesters (no summer break), while also working 4 hours a day........

Well school is closed today and tomorrow due to the ice storm so yes I love it haha. I left GA and went to a out of state college right after graduation. I'm now going for a degree in the aviation field then it's off to the air traffic control academy. College definitely beats the hell out of high school. All the people I know that are seniors or that have just graduated told me to stay in as long as possible since jobs are so scarce and the economy sucks. It's apparently the best days of your life which I agree with so far.

I love school as long as you have interesting classes. Pick a major that is fun and you enjoy. If you choose for money alone, you will hate every second.
BTW SPSU parking sucks, they have had major issues with it.

if ur parents pay your way through and help you out i can see how it can be fun, but if youve been working since you were 14 and pay bills and get no help from your rents you are already stressed out enough as it is and then going to boring classes just pisses u off more and makes school shitty <-- the boat im in

and then with school....(well its more about the bullshit classes that ive already spent 4 years in HS doing)....on top of that im busy as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.

its just stressin me out is all....

What year are you in? What's your major? You ever considered changing majors?

The first couple years of classes BLOW hardcore. It's all high school shit and quite frankly not needed for your upper level classes. Shit get's more interesting when you actually start taking your major classes, that's if you like your major and it interests you of course. If not, don't hesitate to change majors man.

I'm on my 4th major before FINALLY finding what interests me like no other. I WANT to go to class now and learn more and see how I can apply it. Don't let the "wrong" major discourage you man :goodjob:

I can see how work and school get stressful too, i've been in the same boat for a while now. During fall and spring semester, I don't get a single day off. I'm either at work or at school, 7 days a week. Only thing you can do is keep motivating yourself and telling yourself it's what you gotta do, FOR THE TIME BEING, not forever. In the end, it'll definitely pay off man. Not just education-wise, but also as sort of proving to yourself that you had the motivation/dedication/determination to do all these things at once and not let yourself get discouraged. It'll show a lot about yourself :goodjob:

If I was illiterate then how would I know you're under 18? You must be 18 to be on this forum, you agreed to it when you signed up. Get ready for the ban.

Why are you taking so many math classes for a business major? Business majors require 2 math classes. Where do you plan on transferring to?

After living all these years of just working, working AND working. People create debt and tend to buy things that are more of a *want*. Because of this long term break; I'd love to go back to school! School = true life. The only way to advance and make a purpose in our future IS going to school. One thing I regret is taking this long term break and if I'd had gone to school; I'd be a better person then I am now. When I look at all the college students and their college lives, I envy them but when I hear so many of them and see people complaining about their student loans, I know I've gotta earn more money so I can stay away from debt. We gotta make our parents proud, right? :goodjob:

Ugh that's even worst haha. I took Geology, or was it Georgraphy , as my science class. Don't make it harder on yourself by taking physics, unless you have a passion for it.
