I'm REALLY considering building my daily driver to pep it up a little. There's a JRSC in the parts for sale section for a D-series for $900.
What are the potential risks of supercharging my STOCK D16Y5 Automatic?
What kind of numbers will I be pushing?
What else is needed for this project?
I'm going to have everything professionally done. Money is also not an issue. Input please?

i dont want to sound like an ass, but why?
really though, with it being stock, it wont be anything spectacular. how much boost would you run? what kind of management, etc?

Lol, everyone asked the same thing.
That's the thing though, I don't know where to start.
Like I said, MONEY WILL NOT MATTER.

honestly, for 900+ dollars i would look for a engine swap. and get it manual converted.

Lol, I have a 6-speed M3 coming.
I work downtown so the commute is crazy. That's why I have an auto DD. Pepping it up a little can keep me satisfied.
Again guys, MONEY IS NOT THE ISSUE.

you don't really have any real tuning applications for automatic. since you want to keep it automatic run the fmu and jrsc electronics. if you want to be a little better run the fmu, an afc, and a msd btm (ditch the jrsc electronics) and get it tuned if you want a little more from it.

Do you guys think $900 is a good price for a used JRSC?

yeah thats a decent price just make sure you can get the jr fmu and other jr electronics b/c like what scotty said there really isnt anything out there to tune an auto unless u get the afc and msd

Doesnt the auto hx civics have the ECVT transmission. I would be worried about the tranny holding up, cause i think a new one is about $1200

yeah, the hx's have the notoriously bad CVT auto trannies. Eww...

i paid 900 shipped for mine. which yes, is a good deal. they go for $2k new.
scotty is right. he tuned my d16z6 with JRSC. made 145whp(enough to take out b16s) on stock pullies. i upgraded pullies and injectors and he made 170whp for me.(that made me quick enough to take on mustang GTs, etc.) that was when i had the red crx.
dont expect much from an auto trans. IMHO, it isnt worth it, no matter how much money you put into it.

just do a auto b-series swap with the usual bolt-ons; intake, header, exhaust
