Ok Guys I have a problem today when driving my car it started going crazy. At about 2700 rpm the tach just goes crazy and jumps all over the place and the car bogs a little but if you punch it hard the tach eventually straightens back out at around 4k and the car takes off like a rocket (well a slow rocket with a stock d16a6 that is). I think it is the Ignitor (Ignition control module or ICM)
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance-- Justin

Mad Mike
02-05-2009, 05:41 PM
Take your distributor cap off and check the set screw that hold on the rotor. That what caused my tach to jump around.

91eflx
02-05-2009, 05:42 PM
i checked all of the wires but forgot that lol thanks ill try it tomorrow

Mad Mike
02-05-2009, 06:05 PM
yea that little screw likes to fall out and it is a pain to find it and reinstall it. But most of you tach issues are caused by it.

91eflx
02-05-2009, 06:07 PM
i touched the rotor and it didnt seem loose but ill try it its worth a shot

Needs coilovers and some old school fittipaldi's or something. My only problem with these threads is:

Since when is spray-painting a car de-ricing it? The last 3 of these threads I've seen on here have all been flat black. Stay away from the spray paint import atlanta...

Brian*
02-12-2009, 01:43 PM
THis is true^^ You can paint a car for almost as cheap as you can spray-bombing it...

Get that thing painted an old factory honda color!! It will look way better

He also removed the ridiculous wing, halo's, the molded in body kit, the molded in hatchback tails, re-painted that ridiculous dash, lost the curbed to hell 17's, made all of the seat bolts actually functional (only 2 worked before), replaced the VC gasket, tinted the windows, lost all the blue under the hood, cleaned up alot of the wiring, made the fan actually functional, fixed the horrible wiring job that was there from the PO, etc.

Wether it looks like it in the pics or not this car has came a pretty long ways so far. It does still have a long way to go, yes. The rattle can job is only temporary as it will be sprayed soon.
