BIG props to john over at M/H for really hooking it up hard. he is a really cool dude and if anybody needs some traction for this coming up season these are the tires to go with for sure! cant wait to see how these bad boys perform, hope my coilovers will make it here in time to get this thing out to the track on the 31st. im cutting it real close :(

screw that, buy you some! there is no point in having a high HP car is you cant hook. that one thing i have learned. with the right suspension and tires you can knock alot of time off your ET. a good set of tires is one of the best investments you can do for your car. people are always uping boost, running race gas, spraying their car, ect....but if it doesnt hook then you are doing it wrong!

nice set up
thanks!
Definitely will hook.
im pretty sure it will. hell the neon has an intake and an adjustable wastegate that runs 3psi more than stock on stock tune with 100% stock exhaust. so it doesnt make much power anyways but the only reason neons arent that fast at the track is cause they cant hook worth a shit......
O shit!!!

should be able to hook, but don't u think u may break an axle. Didn't matt have trouble with his axles

cause he was on DR's. slicks save your axles cause they are really soft. wheel hop is what breaks axles and soft slicks cushion the wheel hop :goodjob:

I wouldn't say the wheel hop kills the axles. Most who break an axle at the track never move an inch. The hard sidewall of the DR doesn't wrinkle to absorb the shock of hooking, so that gets transferred to the axles, which snaps them.

well SRT4's have REALLY REALLY bad issues with wheel hop and thats why neon owners break axles. its bad, REALLY bad. the motor in this car is almost like a freaking powerstroke. large displacement(for having 4 pistons) and a very small turbo so it makes alot of wtq. my old neon on stock turbo made 297whp and 363wtq, with that much TQ in a FWD car it hops BAD and when you have tires with a hard sidewall and it wheel hops as bad as these things do the axles can break from the shock of the hard tires hitting the ground.

those would have been great on the old set up :(

yeah on the black neon im sure these would have gotten me in the 11's but in order for this to fit you have to have coilovers cause slicks will hit the spring perch on the factory suspension.
i guess we will see how these work out, ive never launched a car on slicks but on 225 BFG DR's i cut 2.0's all day at 2.5K launches slipping the clutch a little. im sure 5K clutch drop launches will scare the shit out of me LOL so nobody be surprised if i let out of it on the 1st launch :lmao:

There is more than one way to break an axle. If you have "too much traction" and too much power, you'll just snap it right in half.
However, wheelhop will DESTROY your axles in a hurry.
Imagine trying to break a stick in half. You can either bust it over your knee with one swift snap, or bend the damn thing back and forth several times until it breaks in two.

and the neon doesnt make but 240-ish whp right now so i dont think ill break an axle from too much HP :lmfao:

I agree with Lankhoss.
Wheel hop torn-up my subframe with only 190whp back in the day.....:( that was a sad day running 15 flat and a 2,000 worth of damage
