I crossed over the one hundred thousand mark a couple of months ago. Holy shit at all that driving. All the shit you see out there. Completely worth it. Ten more years of this shit and I'll join the million mile club. Wahoo! Hmmmmm. Later, QD.

Damn son that's a lot of miles.

I've seen a lot of shit in that time, too. And this was only for a year and a half worth of driving. I've stood on the shores of the Great Lakes and, in the same day, seen Niagra Falls and still had time to get to back down to Knoxville, TN. Then right back up to Rochester, NY and up to Canada via Maine. Then slid down through Boston, NYC, Baltimore and Philly. That's not even the half of it, dude.

Do you get paid by the mile?

And by the load. I get paid much, much more driving "local" than I did OTR. Later, QD.

Actually, yes I do. When I make the longer runs. I'll stop at the QT by the terminal, grab a couple of cokes (I have a fridge in the truck) and a couple of smaller bags of chips and snack along the way. When I'm local, I don't do too much worrying about eating because I'm always hurrying to get done with my run so I can get on the next load. Being local (around 285) pays off big time at $40/load and grabbing about 7-8 loads a day. Later, QD.

$40/load x 8 load/day = $320/day, plus mileage, which, on an 8 load day, would only be about 100 miles. That times $.35 is $35 more dollars.

More than enough for gas, lolol. Later, QD.

It would take me about 5+ years to get to that point. I don't know if I'll still be working then or not. Later, QD.

How do you do 2500 a week with 100 miles on an 8 load day?

Im just confused. because if you do 2500 a week, you should hit the million in less than 6 years.

but if 2500 is an exception then you might have 10 years or so...

I put that mileage on the truck about every 3 weeks or so. Hail, just Thursday, I went to Spartanburg, SC and back to Atlanta and then up to Cedartown, GA (which is less than 10 miles from AL, near Rome) all in the same damn day. I was tired as fuck from that run. Driving 40 tons worth of whatever. That was 526 miles total. The day before, I went to South Carolina twice for another 500 mile trek. Most of the time I stay in the perimeter because they know I can get more done than the other drivers. They send those guys out on the longer runs. Later, QD.

Spartanburg huh? Hate driving through there. I guess its probably a little better for trucks. But you have to stick to the speed limit through "metro" Greenville.

I drive through there on my way back home and It's so big, it makes you want to go 70-80, but man will they pull you over quick.

Maybe one day I will get my CDL, any restrictions on that?

115,000 k in one year... that's a LOT of driving. congrats! I guess the next thing on the list is to do 200k in one year? set a new personal best heh.

115k is a lot especially since you've had your local route for a while.:goodjob: Good job keeping it rubber-side down.

I was telling Scotsman last night I did 3k this last week, but that is DEF the exception. Still I’m a Road Warrior too, just not in a big rig. I've put 60,000 in 10 months. It will slow down though, I'm not on the road M-F anymore.

My truck is governed to 62 so I put it on cruise, max it out and ride straight through without thought of the police.

What do you mean by restrictions?

Lolol. I won't be able to do that. Since I'm local most of the time, I don't break that kind of mileage off anymore. Later, QD.
