Sorry JITB. There are few times a name is exploited and wasted as much as that car is.

Over the summer a friend and I saw one at a small Honda dealer and talked the salesman into letting us taking it out. I must say I was very impressed. I drove it hard on some curvey roads and it really was a FUN car. It felt great, handled really well honestly. Plus there is actually some real cool things, like the true functional rear diffuser, MASSIVE sway bar, etc.

Looks wise it is ok. I just find it sad what the Mugen RR has accomplished and this is the best we get over here.

There isn't a FWD car I would pay that kind of money for. It does look better than a Civic and is a little faster but it still doesn't send me. I'd buy an STi for that kind of money and look better and be faster and handle better...

I know so many people who say that because they don't have the money to buy it. When you actually are in the market for something and its your $30k you'll think alot more about what you can get for that money and your decision might change.

I wouldn't mind having one for a DD(N/A) if there was a used one under 20k because I already have a car that was worth 30k(4door boosted). Those remind of the Acura rsx's bodyshape somewhat. Either car is nice as a N/A also. :goodjob:

I just tinted one the other day it seemed really nice with all the red stitching on the inside and sounded pretty nice to. be a good dd....

I was next to one on Peach tree industrial the other day. Was tempted to play around with him but my turn was coming up. I like them honestly, but like others said I wouldnt put the money onto one.

we have 2 of them on the island and they are decently quick.. however, both of them have had their rims stolen  but they are great cars! i enjoyed riding in them for sure. maybe no worth 30k. but then again a regular Si with the mugen mods couldn't be had for the same price.

Agreed, its pricey, but to create the same car with a regular Si it would cost about the same if not more. Im sure it was geared towards a different crowd than the STI/EVO.

I'd go with a TSX any day, or the last body style TSX or TL, but we are talking about similarly priced cars that are much nicer and look quite good, they just won't handle nearly as well.
Last I checked, you could only get a used STI for that kind of money anyway, might as well go with an '09 WRX with the upgrades that have been made to it, it's numbers are really close with the STI's without the mid to upper 30k price tag.
This is the kind of car that is going to hold its value over the rest of the models in this body style, its rarity will hold it up on a pedestal, much like the Type R Integras. We all know that you can build a faster Integra than the Type R and you can get all of the rare bits, but having a Type R is something entirely different, and they garner more money because of the pedigree. The people that buy these cars can enjoy them for years and never have a problem, not even when they resell them to us at an inflated price because we can only afford them when they're 13 years old and over $10k.

To be honest, I went and saw one at the MoG dealership when they first were introduced. I thought it looked good but with $30k, I'd go buy an Evo 9 and use whatever $$$ left over for add-ons.

Only problem with them. Mugen = attractive to thieves. This one never made it off the lot.

I'm a huge Honda fan. But this is overkill on the price and not enough to get back.

If you like Honda, like them for the right reasons. Engineering....Not fads.

Again, the Mugen RR is a phenomenal fwd car and is litterlay a streetable touring car. The Si is a factory kitted wannabe that is only bought by those that havn't a clue. I love Mugen's products but that car is just not what it should be.

I'm sure it's fun, it handle's well, and the engine really snarls, but it takes a lot to warrant a $30,000 price tag on a Civic.

I think they made the same mistake with the S2000 CR. It just doesn't seem "special" enough for the price hike.

i mean, hondas are good cars.....but ive never liked them, they always been boring and cookie cutter to me.

i agree the SI mugen is a just a away to get some more money out of honda fanboys.

An automotive enthusiast in the market for a Japanese "driver's car" could just as easily buy an Impreza STI or a Lancer Evolution instead of this.

I absolutely love civics but even I can admit it is too much money for a car thats i not really worth it. Its like a G35 Nismo exhaust that costs the same- just not worth it

I can't tell you what kind of cars to like but i can say that Americans have a straight line view when it comes to performance. If you like drag racing, Honda is not the company to think about.

On the other hand, if you like all cars as well as fwd, you'd understand why Honda's ITR and CTR and NSX rank as three of the greatest ever drivers cars. Balance above all.

Anybody that put "I'd rather have an EVO or an STI", this car obviously isn't for them. I can see myself buying one of these, cause I love Hondas and will always be driving Hondas.

That being said, I am in total agreement with EJ about what this car should have/would have been.

But I still wouldn't mind having this car in the garage.
