Is this true? The only 1/4th mile dragstrip I have been to is commerce. I heard this track is slow. My friend with his gsx said this track is normal...

So what is the final conclusion here? Fast, slow, 800ft above sea level? What is the story here?

most of it is due to lack of track prep on friday nights... the NHRA guys tend to turn good times there when they actually lay down some VHT and clean the track.

You should be fine if you run latter in the night. The track is slow when they first open.

HIPSI is exactly right. Commerce doesn't prep for test n tune nights. If they do, it's absolutely minimal. Elevation doesn't help either.

Reynolds is faster, E.T. wise.

i also heard that commerce ahs a 5* slope. not that that matters to cars like mine, but those high E.T. cars it sucks for.

commerce is slower because its not prepped.... silver dollar is alot better in my opinion but has a little dip...barely noticable but noticeable because the RPM revs up real fast then drops backwhen the tires contact the pavement again(similar to a slipping clutch)i guess no track is 100% just got to make the best out of it....:goodjob:

I went to commerce last week and I was very dissapointed with my times and my 60ft times. I'm not an excellent driver but I can usually stay at 2.2 most of the time. I took a close look at the starting line and I saw about 1" layer of BS on it then I realized why my drag radials wouldn't hook for shit. I had my best run at the begining of the year with a lot less HP/TQ but I'm sure it was because track was freshly clean.
