98 z28 with a few bolt ons and a tnt kit jetted at 100. It trapped 89 in the 1/8th on motor and has done 122 in the 1/4 spraying half track with low bottle pressure. I am right there with you on the roll runs.. My rear end is actually broken right now.. lol It should be back up within the next week though :)

I found my car on Craigslist and the guy lived 10 minutes away in Smyrna! Car was originally sold at Team Ford on Marietta. I guess I got lucky!

you pretty much need to practice your driving :) dont be fooling yourself that you will magically hook up at the track. From my experiance my camaro on DR's would hook better on the street then it ever did at the track :???:

yeah Z's are not cheap to mod at all. if you dont have a plenum spacer yet you really need one of those, felt the biggest difference in my Z by getting that and catless test pipes.

Not always the case. I was able to beat (barely) a GT500 making 683rwhp. I talked to the guys in the shop who worked on it, and that's the number they gave me. The p:w is in his favor, yet I still edged him out. I have also raced KB Cobras making right at 600rwhp, or just over. Again, I'm either even or a hair ahead from a roll, yet they have a better p:w ratio than me.

I raced Marshal, who is making 10 - 15 more rwhp than me....edged him out each time as well.

Your p:w ratio is about 90% of what determines who will win a race from a roll. But that's what makes it fun, because it's not always the case, and there's only 1 way to find out.....

I'm talking about power to weight ratio. It doesn't matter what hp a car makes, or how much it weighs......it's about the p:w ratio.

The 2 Mustangs I listed had better p:w ratios than me. Marshal's car barely weighs more than mine (like 40lbs).

Gearing can play a part in racing from a roll, as well (although I don't think as much as it does from a dig). But there are other factors that are more important from a roll, that aren't as much from a dig. Things like powerband and aerodynamics.
