I dont give two shits if i have everything to the exact "jdm" specs. I like the ek sidemarkers better than the eg ones so i put those on. Same with the ek fog lights. I thought they looked better, so i put those on. JDM is really overrated IMO, i am just building a car with the parts i think look good.:goodjob:

I believe they are there to support the subframe. On newer civics (eg and up), larger rear swap bars tend to crack near the mounting locations, so rather than mounting the rear swap bar to the frame, you mount it to the reinforcement plate. :goodjob:

It's "wrong" to him because he didn't use the proper year side markers and he didn't place it in the original location.

Styling is subjective. One mans clean JDM Civic is another mans ricemobile. If you like it then you like it. I can choose to block out and ignore the negative responses or you could also go the opposite way and get into an e-debate over styling.

Well that would be his opinion. Rep wheels are rep wheels and most are junk and obviously fake. I would personally prefer to buy a different style/brand than run a fake. That is my opinion but doesn't mean I hate the guy for doing it.

I'm still trying to comprehend where you got this whole notion of "elitist" attitude. I disagreed with his wheels, and made an explanation on what was the "wrong" sidemarkers for the 92-95 hatch (being that those weren't the markers made for that model).

I'm still trying to comprehend where you got this whole notion of "elitist" attitude. I disagreed with his wheels, and made an explanation on what was the "wrong" sidemarkers for the 92-95 hatch (being that those weren't the markers made for that model).

That is rarely true. While there have been some parts 'made in the same place' that doesn't mean they are the same. You can make something in the same place with 2 degrees of quality. Original piece is made to 2x standard with Y metal and replica or knock off piece is made to 1x standard with Z metal.

That is a mantra spewed on many a forum which is simply not true. I am not knocking Rota directly or any specific part but this has been proven false over and over again.

On top of that, having the original or real part is something to be proud of. Obviously it was so good or so hot that someone, or multiple people/companies decided to copy it. It makes the originals that much more rare. Sure it could be elitest but why not? If I have real AC Schnitzer 3 piece wheels made by OZ Racing... why would I not have an 'elite' attitude when someone says "Well these were made by company X in the same factory. They are just as good".

What? I don't even see a sway in the photo. My guess is this little piece of metal is supposed to control lateral movement between the two lower control arm mounts? That ones that are seem welded and part of the lower subframe?

I don't ever see those mounts 'cracking'. Those are pretty beefy.

As a 'suspension guy' and one who enjoys suspension tuning I was trying to figure out the point. Just looked like "Hey those 2 bolts are kind of close together... let's put a bar between then". Then on top of that you can see it while driving!

Most are brighter colors or polished. Makes them faster?

If those mounts that it is connected to(by one single bolt on each side) are moving laterally while cornering you need to get to work on something else. Not a piece of steel with 2 bolt holes on the end ;)
