Just picked this engine up from a friend of mine. The engine is built with APR head and main studs, Eagle rods, Arias Pistons, and is tapped for an oil return. I offer a startup warranty on this engine, meaning that installed correctly, I will guarantee it will start. This engine is out of my friend Jason's 2003 350z. I'm not asking what I could be for it pricewise because there is a bit of oil getting by the rings in piston 1 (hence the blackness on the block). Basically asking for the whole engine what the parts alone are worth. Again, this engine DOES RUN, just has the oil blowby. It could be something as simple as pulling the piston and replacing the rings, I don't know, and I don't have time to tear it down. Price is set at $2,500, and I will accept serious, cash in hand offers.

It's the block on the right in the pic... IE >>>>>>>>> that side lol.

off teh wall questions...can the vq35s from 350s fit in teh maxima no mods? (speaking generally about the 02-03 maximas that come w/ the 3.5s

Ummm I dunno if it's the same engine or not... I would assume they are, based on the fact that they both have the same code, and would think the difference is that the transmission/clutch (if present) are configured for a FWD setup on maximas.

Not without a LOT of work.

Custom motor mounts that extended towards the trans to utilize the center crossmember. Would most likely be weaker than the stock FWD mounts (on the FWD block) unless you braced the hell out of them.

Custom headers made to stretch around the custom motor mounts made above - the RWD mounts are just plain in the way of any sort of manifold that comes straight down.

....are you talking about doing something stupid like turning a fwd maxima into a rwd maxima??

the fwd vq35 is not the same as the rwd vq35.... The engine mounts bolt up in different places

Is this one that was boosted?

I am looking into VQ swaps for my Miata lol.

it was boosted and driven briefly, then Jason pulled it because he didn't want the blowby to get any worse. I've done some research, and am 99% sure a new set of rings on the piston will fix the problem. I just don't have the time or desire to pull the engine apart and do it lol.
