Hey, i am still trying on the swap. I am a noob to civic scene. Ive only helped my buddy do a minime swap which turned out to be a failure. I would keep the d15b2 in there if the compression wasnt 80psi on the first cylinder, 110 on the second and like 200 on 3+4.. damn car gets 42mpg still. Trying to go cheap, but upgrade a little. I am not having much luck in doing so tho, kinda hard to find a cheap dohc zc
JDMJAYDC2
01-16-2009, 10:34 PM
i might have a hookup on a rover motor :ninja:
and if you want to stay cheap you can always do a newer d series motor like a d16z6
JBrakeS2K
01-16-2009, 10:37 PM
yeah i know.. 137hp sounds tempting though.. cheapest ive found is 785$ shipped
JDMJAYDC2
01-16-2009, 11:43 PM
i can do alittle better than that and you dont need shipping just a truck or be like me and put it in the back of your hatch pm me when your READY to buy and ill see what i can do for you i can get you a stock replacement or a newer d series or the rover motor

1)=thanks
2) its like a dark metallic blue.. it was baby blue originally(cheap but good paintjob) dunno if that omg was good or bad?
3)=its been like this for awhile i bet the cylinder walls are scored to hell.. i dont want to get it bored..and it would prolly be cheaper and more beneficial to run a zc

rings/time/hone/bearings/gaskets < engine, ecu, wire-work
And the "<" is a less than. not "ownage"
JBrakeS2K
01-17-2009, 01:16 AM
correct except ive already wired the mpfi si intake in.. so i am just going to hook that directly up to the block. thats the only hard part from what ive read, the rest is just plug and play really..

I LOVE YOU!!!
THIS GUY SPEAKS THE TRUTH!!! DO IT ONCE, DO IT RIGHT!!!
People for some reason like dragging home 15 - 20 year old motors and calling it an UPgrade. SERIOUSLY --- just have your motor gone through (or rings at the minimum) so you don't have to you worry about it for another 200k miles.

If you do it right, you've got millions of miles. You don' know what the motor's been through prior to your ownership. I rebuilt mine and put it through absolute abuse. Drove it across the country. I'd got 7 or 8K miles before changing oil, I'd let the engine run hot, I let it run low as hell on oil. My motor was abused because I wanted to see what it would take. I know it was built right. And to date, it's still running perfectly fine for the guy I sold it to. I could trust it. A swap? 50/50.

wtf? why would you do that? that doesnt make any sense! who in there right mind would have a motor rebuilt and then try to blow it up just to see how strong it is? wow...

i have access to a cherry picker, lift, and all that good stuff. i am just a little fresh on doin a swap, im not necessarily close to atlanta though, i am about an hour and a half south. i hope it goes well.. jdmjay.. like i said i dont want to spend anymore than 500$... i want a d16z6, d16a8, or the a9 zc. i would rather have the non-vtec blocks. i have no clue how to hook vtec up and the obd0-obd1 conversion. if you guys wanna help, i will def throw down for a case or two. No prob there.

WTF? Hour and a half south of atlanta? Took me an hour and 15 at most to get from Marietta to Warner. I dated a girl that lives right off where they put that "new" exit it. I say "new" cuz I think it's like 2yrs old now or something like...

I just want the block, no tranny. my 5spd has alot of mileage, but its still a champ. I think 500$ is fair. That allows 100-200$ for new replacement parts. Plus, i need a new clutch so i figured id throw that in while swapping. I appreciate it dude, seriously. Pretty cool of you guys to go through the trouble for some random noob guy. New exit? i dunno.. ive been here since 07. Exit 144 and 146? One of those is new?

LoL. That's what we do here in the EF Squad, bro...
Uh...I'm trying to remember. I used to always get off at the "we bare all" exit to head to her house, LoL. So whichever one is immediately south of it, that's the "new" one.

I appreciate the help, seriously. HAHA yeah thats exit 146, thats the most nastiest truck stop ive ever seen. My wife and I went in there one time just to check it out and we nearly puked. It was a complete 180 situation.

01-18-2009, 01:10 PM
we bare all huh *checks google* ah so you just need the block then huh hmmm i cant help you there then i can only get full motor swaps or just the motor your best bet would be to put up a wtb thread then and see what you come up with
JBrakeS2K
