twin turbo 4 cylinder?

i have always know this was a stupid and pointless set up for a 4 cylinder car. yet this one will be a full race car that seams like it will perform great.

2.6L motor up from 2.4L
twin td04 turbos for break in
twin big wheeled td05 looking for 850+whp
eclipse 420a head with turbo out front
no wastegate
100% meth
(8)1600cc injectors
19PSI per turbo(38 total)
10K revs

opinions? thoughts? stupid? why would this be a good set-up over a single turbo 4 cylinder? powerband maybe?

i agree, but maybe theres something we dont know. the people that built the car have ran strret driven neons into the 9s. they have to have a good amount of knowledge and skill.

manifold is weird isnt it? its called a "turbofold" LOL the exhaust side is built into the manifold.

Talk about traction loss when turbos spooled... lol

I know some people use (of course it was on V8 or something) a smaller turbo to help with low end rpms and a big turbo to take over when the small one has reached it's capacity. EX: some of the new Ford trucks (forgot which one had the TT) do this.

Either way, like you said, they obviously know what they are doing... Maybe they put two smaller turbos on there instead of one BIG one, is because it would reduce the lag and not warrant a big drop on the top end for power...

I could see the twins being useful on a street car. Bigger top end power, with spool characteristics similar to stock. Seems like a win win... But i don't know if that setup, plus and intercooler/radiator would fit wit the oem core support.

Is the 420a head a direct bolt on??

That's a pretty interesting setup they got going on there, far better than some I have seen. Typically, quite a few twin turbo 4 cylinder setups that have been attempted have been pretty laggy and didn't yield great power for what was attempted, but this setup is pretty damned aggressive compared to those.
Think about it, 100% meth and still have to use a twin fuel rail setup with 1600 cc injectors? That thing is just gulping fuel by the bucketful. I would be curious how it would do on straight E85 vs their current fuel configuration.

yeah they have built a few street cars with twins but they have still been back by the firewall

yeah its been said alot, by now its way worse than saying "itll buff out" when somebody posts pictures of a wreaked car. you'd think people would have gave up on it by now. i never call my car a SRT4, i always say neon cause it is what it is :goodjob:
