I need community service hours for a ticket I got last summer, can anyone recommend any good places in Cobb county? Perhaps places that will allow me to pay for hours as well?

eh i don't know about places that will allow you to pay. They can easily screw you over by snitching, as well as taking your money. Try local churches.

Retirement Centers and Nursing Homes are always looking for volunteers. Check with local churches or community food banks. Food Banks need all the help they can get right now.

Nah, ticket is only $476 dollars, but I need to do service to keep my license. If I could not afford the ticket, why would I be asking for places that will let me pay for hours? :???:

Boys & Girls Club, you will most likely want to volunteer there after your mandatory sentence. Great place to make a difference.

Maybe you can get out like my buddy did. He ended up in a mens home, and the people running the place were living there too, so as long as he bought them a pack of cigarettes each day they would write him as doing the hours. I think 5 packs later he had all 30 hours. XD

You could search around for battered women's shelters, things like that. You can help serve meals and give time and care to those who need it.

Goodwill or a battered women's shelter are good for anything around 40 hours.

I've worked with Trees Atlanta, and Hands-on-Atlanta (handsonatlanta.org (www.handsonatlanta.org)). Both were great. They usually have several projects going on and you can choose your date which makes it easier.

So yea now you know - I'm a part time tree-hugger that drives a V8. Makes a lot of sense doesnt it?
