Ok folks, it's about time to get ready for the 2009 meets. The first one will be in March, mostly at Mary Alice Park in Cumming, GA again. But this post is about the following meet.

We're planning to have it at Road Atlanta. This will be during The Mitty/HSR Challenge. This takes place on the weekend of May 1-3, 2009.

Prices are as follows:

1 day (Sat. or Sun) - $25
3 day (Fri. - Sun.) - $45

If we get more than 20 of us at this event, we will get courtesy parade laps around the track. Notice I said lapS. Plural. I don't know how many but that is what it says on the site.

MAY 2, 2009 will be the specific meet day for our OSJC meet!!!!

Also they are having a Sports Cars of the World showcase there. Nostalgic Japanese Street Fighters has already been set up to participate in this. It even has us listed in the last issue of Grassroots Motorsports. We will basically be showing the Japanese old school car market.

I'll find out what day the track runs will be for us and the showcase so we can pick which day to actually have the meet.

This is just an early (5 month) heads up so you guys can get yourselves in gear and save up that money. Would be awesome to have the turn out we've had all last year at this event. It would really help our cause to have bigger and better gatherings in the future.

Assuming nothing terminal with the S30 I'll be there at least one of those days. I hope the laps are on Sunday because that's the most likely day, and getting a Saturday off work (Assuming I'm still at my current employer in 5 months) is gonna be tough. Then again I certainly have plenty of heads up to put the request in. Time to get to work getting her running in top condition.

The parade laps do take place each day of the event. So we are thinking of trying to make the "meet for us" part take place on Saturday. But hey, if we have 20+ people pay the $45 super ticket price, we can run free laps on both days. Lolol. Later, QD.

You don't need tires and brakes! lol. PARADE LAPS = 50mph tops behind a pace car! :) I'll be there all week for this event as I was last year, probably work first two days then spectate or if I can find a ride race.

As for the event, there are TONS of American cars QD, not sure if you were speaking of just THIS group, but it's historic road racing, aka Trans Am, American GT cars, etc in the mix. :goodjob:

We have decided that the main day for our meet will be on Saturday. But if you guys can do it, buy the Super Ticket for $45 and, if we have 20 more show up on Sunday, we can do more free parade laps.

That is sort of what the meets are. But as far as gathering together and cruising somewhere, I'm not sure. We're really still trying to nail these dates for the actual meets.

As far as doing some higher speed laps on the track...For $35.00 more addional "higher" speed laps can be had after the parade laps...So save a little additional money, because the touring laps will be a little more exciting. If we have a decent number of cars at this event Grassroots and Classic will probably publish an article and some photos of our groops. Also "DIY Autotune" will be there doing a megasquirt install for Greg from GRM during the weekend. Hopefully our Volvo powered 1977 Celica GT will be running on the "Squirt" by then.
