Watch out for the halo'ing effect. Don't go too crazy with editing either, makes the pics grainy, and the effect is just overplayed now.

It is so grainy. That is what I hate about Photomatix. A lot of times even with mild HDR it produces a lot of noise. That is why I no longer use it, although I messed with these some:

the thing about HDR is, you have to know WHICH exposures to use. you cant just throw in three random exposures and expect an amazing pic.

OP- your getting better. i love the last pic with the storm clouds poking through the trees. like ive said, just play with it and youll get it.

Thanks again,I think my problem w/the grainy pictures is not the program but w/my camera #1 and then my skill has a role in it as well.I'll eventually get it im sure I am trying more each day and it seems to be progressing.

Thanks again everyone.

.

Hmm what exposures do you use then? I actually did the ones I posted in this thread from 1 image shot in RAW. This is the last one I did using multiple exposures:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3144/3039300373_40d33dabbb_b.jpg

Your pics are too overdone for me, but they are sharp which is what I can't seem to do.

it all depends on the lighting. there are no specific, or set exposures for a good HDR shot.

everyone has there own taste in HDR, everyone has their own style.

Agreed even though I am new to it I'd like to have my own style that is nice.A pal showed me the of your mustang last week.Once I seen it I noticed how crappy mine were actually turning out when I thought they were good.hahaahhaha But now I know the truth and I am trying more things and hopefully they continue getting better.

swollix your photo looks nice as well.

Im more of a noob hahaha.. I use a Canon powershot sd1000 I purchased from a pal.Im sure by the time I can pick up a D40 and the lens I want I should be more capable of doing better hdr's[I got time to practice before I buy one].
I still like what you have done w/your pictures I've seen your threads.

Ehh I wouldn't get a D40. Everyone I have talked to who is really into photography says they are garbage:
1)Have to use the menus to change settings
2)Limited to af-s lenses for auto-focus
3)Lack of depth of field preview
4)Doesn't have automagic exposure bracketing
5)Doesn't have built-in control for Nikon wireless flashes

I was originally going to buy the D40, but after talking to people I bought a D70 instead.

Im not sure exactly how serious I plan to get w/photo's but I do know the D40 will make me happy enough[for now].I can always buy a better camera if I decided to and just keep the D40 as a secondary one.
I do appreciate your side of it and what you have heard. Thanks for helping out.
