Ive got an old Toshiba Techra8000 Pentium II laptop. I want to put the software for a linksys card on it but I cant because the laptop does not have Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher

I tried to download IE 6 onto a CD but it wont let me install from the CD. I read that fr some reason you cant do a "download only" install. I have no other way of connecting the laptop to the internet to download a newer version of IE. Any ideas here?

You need to download the "standalone edition", not the really small one that downloads files.

You'll know for next time!

OK I lied, that version downloads files too.

If you just download SP3 and install that, you sould be set with IE6. Can you do that?

SP3? For what? This laptop is running Windows 2000 man... it wont even support IE 7.

Oh its Win2k...

Try the link below, and I think you can run the download before you copy.
