Hey guys,
Well I've finally decided to do something about my Accord. It over-revs and slips too much when shifting gears cold or warm.
I'm going to do a tranny flush now, and if it doesn't work, replace the torque converter. I've ordered the torque converter (150 bucks at autozone!) but I have never done this before so I dont know how hard it is.
Have any of you done this without a lift? The car is FWD so I'm sure its going to be a royal pain in the ass.
If you have any advice or comment, please post.
If the torque converter needs replacing, I'll make a DIY thread (if I'm able to finish the job lol).
Other details: Engine: 4 banger LX F32A1 with VTEC.

It's not the torque converter. Its more than likely the bands in the tranny. So, you'll probably notice an improvement flushing it and changing the oil/filter. It's going to do it again though. Basically once it stops it doesnt quit happening.
To put it in, you're probably best off to just pull the motor and split the trans off after its out and on the ground. Its a royal pain to do a transmission while it and the motor are still in the car, in a FWD.
Your probably best off looking for another trans.

^ what he said. What your saying it does is not likely to be a converter issue. You can drop the trans in 45 minutes with the engine in the car though.

Meh, I just find it easier to pull the motor lol. I mean, its 4 bolts, plus a few cables lol. The hardest part is the Axles, and you gotta take them out anyways lol.

I talked to a couple of Honda guys and they all said its the torque converter thats slipping...

5-speed swap sounds like a good idea. However, I don't have the resources to do a tranny swap, and I dont think it'll be easy enough for me to handle by myself.
If you think you want to do this for $$, please PM me.

God I hate A/T!You didn't talk to honda guys, you talked to some morons. Save your $150, and whatever else you plan on pissing away on that trans, and get a good used one to replace it, that way you'll only have to take it out once.
