I make military pay. No big bank, here. LoL. Though I would LOVE to own a Kenne bell or a Whipple, it's just not in my bank, right now. To spend that much on a supercharger, I'd rather build a JDM rex and out a mini turbo on a B-series and build it for autocross...and it'd probably outrun the stang.

On the other hand, I still want an SC or TT because as much as I hate to admit, I haven't run my buddy's SRT-4 but...it would rape me. Not even gonna bullshit. He's pushing 24lbs of boost, currently, and he's about to jump to...I think he said 34 or 37.

what did you do that for rev thats fresh air to your intake yo!

Revmaynard
12-26-2008, 02:44 PM
Because people lean on them and break the tabs mounted to the radiator and cause your radiator to leak. lol A honda technician told me that he's seen it a lot on EF's the past 20 years. lol

No, and it won't fit right without alot of modification. I've got mine where is sits straight up and down right now, but it took alot of work. I'd take some pics, but it is all taken apart right now :( I'm going w/ an all aluminum unit, i've had shitty experiences with the stupid plastic end tanks.

Yea, but there is NO suspension made for the wagon so he'd have to greatly sacrifice comfort and DD ability. Considering he mountain bikes 24/7 he doesn't need it lowered. But I agree it would look better.

The only modification I did with mine, was I cut a hole through the skeleton of my hood so when its shut, the cap sits up inside basically.

For the bottom, I laid a piece of rubber down in between the core support, and cross member, and it sits nicely down in. My hood shuts just fine. With my radiator standing straight up.

I'm assuming your DP exits to the right/passenger side. My snail is on the other way around. I made my own DP and it comes out, wraps down around the snail, and hugs the oil pan with 1/2 clearance between the two. I put a few strands of heat tape on the pan. With just a piece of screen and I cut one of my spare foam air filters for my race bike to use as a filter. I do have room to run a piece of IC pipe and a filter. I just chose not to because I've seen what a dirtbike air filter stops, and its less cluttered this way :)

r u asking me. if so i have a bolt-in 6pt. rollcage that is Tig welded into 3 sections and uses sleaves to bolt them together.

mainstream is not a cheap a jay makes it sound. i asked them wat they would charge me to do a weld-in 6pt. with door bars thats SCCA/NASA certified. they told me $2,600. which is not that bad... it's a little high but not too bad.

i called this place in marrietta that specializes in buiding rollcages for SCCA/NASA, they quoted me $1,800 for labor & $300 for materials out the door. for the same style cage. im not bashing mainstream cuz i've seen Turbo Daves work in-person and it's great craftsmanship, but im just letting u know there are better deals out there.:goodjob:

if ur not going to be compeating in drag or road racing i would suggest u get the cusco bolt-in cage if ur just going for looks. but it's not the best cage for safty purposes. the bolt-in i have was build for competition and safty by the pervious owner and his dad who has been a metal fabricator for over 35+ years.

mainstream is not a cheap a jay makes it sound. i asked them wat they would charge me to do a weld-in 6pt. with door bars thats SCCA/NASA certified. they told me $2,600. which is not that bad... it's a little high but not too bad.

i called this place in marrietta that specializes in buiding rollcages for SCCA/NASA, they quoted me $1,800 for labor & $300 for materials out the door. for the same style cage. im not bashing mainstream cuz i've seen Turbo Daves work in-person and it's great craftsmanship, but im just letting u know there are better deals out there.:goodjob:

if ur not going to be compeating in drag or road racing i would suggest u get the cusco bolt-in cage if ur just going for looks. but it's not the best cage for safty purposes. the bolt-in i have was build for competition and safty by the pervious owner and his dad who has been a metal fabricator for over 35+ years.
im a ricer i just want a bolt in for looks now. later i do a cert. cage

An improperly designed/installed cage is more dangerous than not having one.. dont risk your life over trying to look cool. Id much rather have the satisfaction of knowing that a cage in my car would actually protect me in a rollover.

^^^x2:goodjob:

but if u just want the look. i think u can pick up a Cusco 4pt for like $600+shipping and a 6pt for $900+ shipping. i found them on a website a while back, but i dont think i saved it to my favorites. if i find it i'll post the elink here.

I did my headlight tuck in about 3 hours tops and another few getting everything situated inside the car for my tuck. For my power cables I have a Ground Plate, that I screwed to the bottom of my heater box and now bolt those to.

Fuse box, mounted kind of behind the fan box.

Map sensor assembly, is mounted to the box beside the distribution plate.

Well it was then I started tearing it apart again lol.

why use an A6 bottom end and a Y7 head? the Y7 is VTAAAKKK(right?) but does the bottom end have higher compression???

I had a straight A6 that was in a hatch but a little too much NOS :D and it overrevved and bent a valve. I had the Y7(nonvtec) head laying around so I used it. The z6, y7,y8 heads have 1mm larger valves and this setup is about 10.3:1 compression. Good throttle response and good power with less boost.

Just throwing this out there FYI:

There are thieves that browse this forum, and I know of at least one person in this very topic that associates with proven/known thieves. I have seen users in the EF and EG sections that undoubtedly associate with a thief that was caught red handed with a stolen engine, transmission, and other associated parts on his Civic.

What I'm saying is that be careful when you show off what people normally can't see - it's somewhat of a "shopping list" for thieves.
