not putting them down at all! .... i was just wondering why some people start up and join car clubs and why pick and choose one over another.

You dont really pick or choose a club I dont think, at least for me, I just met up with some people and ended up getting along with all of them really well, and its been over 2 years and were all still real close. Im not in the car club any longer due to some changes in my life (away at college and then i went from a show car import to a Wrangler) but were all still good friends.

And as for why.... i dunno.... to have a group of friends you can rely on, a group to show with at shows and gatherings, people to work on your car with ,etc.

I think uts because when you find the right club that has what your looking for as far as people, the cars, events, etc.. It makes the car thing that much more fun. Its always more fun rolling into a show with a club I think then by yourself, and having the day to BS with everyone while passing time at the shows, and having friends you can count on and that count on you when it comes to the cars is always good.

^^^ That makes sense … but I guess it makes more of a difference if your friends first and then car club

a percentage of the population seeks the feeling of acceptance.

They must be a part of something...

I think some people also try to join higher profile clubs for the group sponsorships. Correct me if I'm wrong, but how much publicity have people like Jeff Giese gotten for their clubs that's resulted in those clubs making mad bank in regards to free shit?

~ Miranda (not implying that JG is the only big car in IAS... just using example)

now a days car clubs are just friends.... there really isn't car clubs w/ sponsors that much anymore... most companies are only willing to sponsor a car instead of a whole club. but its cool as long as you have fun w/ it... people take shit to their head sometimes in clubs and others don't put in sometimes what some expect which makes it a hassel.

but w/o the clubs there is no scene... i would like to see more clubs/teams on both the race/show scene, competition is good for everyone. :goodjob:
