lol...

But anyway, lets take time back to like 1998 or so on.

I have underglow, as most of you know, and my set up is fine.
But, I have a problem with the front tube getting busted all the time.
Anyone have an idea as to how to prevent this or lessen the chances of it getting busted?

I drive slow over stuff and blah blah but it gets annoying after a while having to replace just the front alot. Plus my lip spoiler is lower than my neon tube and it doesnt get messed up at all :???:

Maybe get a couple of smaller diameter tubes?

well taken pictures of your Coop-a-Loop, however, it doesn't seem to be low enough for the tube to even be a problem? what in the world are you driving over that makes it break? curbs?

maybe your front suspension is too stiffand you keep breaking the filament inside? I mean, if the tube isn't the lowestthing on the car, but it's the only thing that get's smashed, my guess would be the force of bumps on the wheels is doing it. Maybe put some sort of rubber bushings/dampening on the brackets that hold the light to attain some give in the system?

I'd check to make sure your light isn't in a place where it could be hit by a rock, or mounted in such a way that it's putting undue stress on the fixture. I doubt it has anything to do with the light getting broken because your car is too low, judging by your pictures.

...purple lights though man... :???:

Blue, Red illegal. Yellow and silver? ew. Green, everyone has it. White, too plain.

Purple, not seen much, reflects off the silver amazingly.

How about some clear plastic/vinyl tubing with an inside diameter large enough to slide the neon tube in?

I can see by the one pic, your front tube is totally exposed. I know you want the most glow possible but you HAVE TO HIDE THE TUBE. It looks like crap when you can see the tubes. Mine is mounted on my frame rail, on the side of it 1" above the bottom so nothing can hit it and I can still put it on the lift.

That was a very old picture. As you can see in an earlier post, you can no longer see them.

The front tube was moved back about 5 inches and the lip spoiler covers it also.

Have any pictures of your kit Ant?

How is the front getting broken, is it like shattered, cracked in half?

I agree with the body flex theory. Either that or someone hates you bad lol.

I'm not a fan of neons. But if something is hitting the tube and breaking it, I would fab up a plexiglass shield for protection. And since you're going to keep the neons no matter what, I agree with addressing the possible flex theory, as well. :goodjob:

jmmx258
12-27-2008, 07:48 PM
How are you mounting it?? Completely solid?? Apart from bouncing, something hitting it, someone breaking it, did anybody think about body flex?

If so, sorry I didnt see it.

sounds like a ricer but i zip tided my front neon onto the car frame. when i hit a hard bump or my front kit hit something, the neon has clearance and if the front kit dose touch the neon, it has some room to move
