Hey all, I'm rebuilding a Civic that was a theft recovery... was stolen from me about 6 months ago and I've almost gotten it back in good order.
I was wondering if anyone has been through the inspection process that could give me some pointers as to what they look for and what I could pay special attention towards. thanks!

Being as nobody has posted, I iknow what we look for in PA, i'm sure some of it might be the same down there.

For our inspection we check the following.

Brakes and rotors (or drums)

Tires

Wheel Bearings

Ball Joints

Tie rods and ends

Lights in good working order

Horn

windows have to go up and down

the clutch switch has to work (hold the clutch in to start it)

No rusted holes anywhere

all the emissions junk has to be there, charcoal can etc. Here, it doesn't ahve to work, just has to be there.

Have to have a Catalytic converter

exhaust has to exit behind the passenger cabin

All lug nuts on each wheel

Seat belts have to be installed and working

A good gas cap too, they check that here

I believe thats pretty much it for here

what all was stolen? if the seats were missing they will check the seat belts/ chect to see if all the lights and horn work. also if you have any light on the cluster on like the check engine light srs abs? if they are on or do not light up and go of liek normal it will fail inspection.

I believe they also check the chassis for alignment and also check any welding work.

yes you will need to replace the wind shield if its cracked before inspection

SINCE U R GOING TO NEED PARTS OF THE INTERIOR LIKE CARPET SEATS DOOR PANELS ECT, TRY LOOKING FOR SOMEONE THAT HAS ONE FOR PARTS AND GET ALL THE PARTS THAT U NEED OFF IT.

it WAS a clean title, no accidents or anything. but now it's title-less I have to go and get it inspected...

to redevo, yeah I'm almost done rebuilding it, maybe I'll post pictures of what it looks like now, but I'm kinda reluctant because of the number of thieves that snoop over the site.

I have never heard of a car being recovered with an engine still in it after it has been stripped. That's some crazy shit.
