Need Some PS3 Help

Alright well today I finally finished my holiday shopping, I had a little extra coin to spend so I treated myself to a nice, shiny, new 80 gig PS3 and Socom Confrontation. Well, I get home, hook it up, go through all the settings, setup my internet connection, then setup my Playstation Network account. Well, I have a slight issue, it wont connect to the PSN. It connects to the internet just fine, I can browse on it, watch videos on youtube, etc. but cannot connect to the playstation network. It just says Connection Timed Out every time. I've been on the phone with Sony and my ISP all night, with no luck. I've opened TCP and UPD ports on my modem, manually entered all my ISP info, etc. with no luck. I know its on my ISP end, as I can't do anything with my computer but use the internet and AIM without the same timing out issue, I'm just wondering if its a common problem that my ISP may be trying to block something or something of the sorts.

dont know what to tell you but word of advice. BE CAREFUL WITH THE CASING. They are easier to scratch than the paint on your car. If you can get your hands on a clear film protector do it. I'm currently looking for a replacement case mine is so scratched.

And redGT already ahead of ya, picked one up at the same time. As well as a headset, Resistance 2, Battlefield: Bad Company, Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway, and a spare controller.

try going into your routers settings and disabling UPnP, i have had problems like that before and they stopped after turning that off. you may have a different router then the linksys wrt54gs or but this will still help. atleast with setting up/getting the port numbers needed for PSN. goto the 4th page and its the 3rd to last post, with all the pink writting/corrections the poster made.
