for under 6k you can boost d17, much cheaper than doing a k20 swap.

but in all honesty, and i know your not going to want to hear this cause i didnt either when i had my 7thgen, but your better off selling the civic and starting with a car that has better potential. the 7thgen civic is just not a good strating platform for someone who wants speed.

just do a k20 swap =P should be able to get it done for under 6g's. 200 stock hp isnt bad.

K20 swap for sure!! or you can go with a turbo kit and maybe lower your 1/4 times down to high 14's wich isn't worth it to me. Eli, i completley agree with you! this car was purley ment for gas mileage!

for $6000 you can probably pull of a RSX Type-S swap. or at least a CIVIC SI swap.

if youboost the D17, you gotta make sure you convert it to a return fuel system

and the worse part of that was that i got really shitty gas mileage in mine (shitty mpg for a civic.... i somehow usually got around 22-24mpg, WTF?)

well im thinking turbo cause its cheaper.... then giving the car a face lift... carbon fiber hood, Tein full Coil-Over suspension, Sparco Monza Red/Black seats, some stereo stuff..... i might could sqeeze that into $6000 ... but ive look all over the internet and couldnt find any bolt on kits, anyone know where to get the kit ?

edelbrock,drag,revhard,greddy....all make kits i think. Honestly.. the RSX type s is 220 to the crank i think.. that makes it like 200 to the wheels.. with Catback, headers, Intake and some other minor bolt ons you will be pushing like 240 horsies and prob 220 to the wheels. With a turbo you will make aboutt he same but your gas mileage will be about half of what you will have with the k20. and it would also look better to have the k20 show wise, just IMO.

i cant find a turbo kit for the d17...so maybe a k20 is your best bet

Do the K20 swap or sell the car. I used to have one and selling it is the best thing that I did. But I do miss the car just don't miss the payment or how under powered it was.

k20a3 (civic si 'ep3') swap w/ boost or base rsx k20a3 (not quite sure whats the diff between the rsx and ep motor) but u can get those motors quite cheap and boost them with better numbers. possibly also get the type s k20a2 w/ 6speed .. swapped in for way less than 6'gs, possibly even enough left over for a supercharger ...

just some idea's

ah i forgot,.... not sure.. but go k24a2 (tsx motor) i've seen those have been going for around $2,000 ~ $2,500 then all u need is k-pro .. so u can do this for about 4g's im thinking... and it beats the other k20's torque numbers very nicely...

supercharged k24a2 ~ 300whp

your joking right.

RSX-S has 200CRANK HP
with Kpro i/h/e it can make high 190s/200s

i HIGHLY doubt itll make 220whp without cams

The K motor responds favorably to bolt ons even more so than the B series but I agree with Mike on this, I doubt with just a few bolt ons that you will be putting down 200+ to the wheels. And no if it is turbo'd running at 6 psi I see it putting down to the wheels around 250 not 220.

still thinking about the G35???

Yeah, i'm going for it. I'm in Korea right now but i'll be back in Oct. I'm selling my civic hatch this month to someone in my parent's neighborhood. Then when i get back in Oct. i plan on selling my 02. Taking that cash and putting it as a down payment on a used 03 G35. Thats the plan at least.
