Im riding down 29, following with traffic. Once i get to a red light, i see a cop behind me in the other lane. As soon as the green comes on, he hits his lights and pulls me over. He shows me that i was going 65 in a 40 zone, and he also tells me that i dont have my seat belt. So i give him my DL, and he comes back with a speeding ticket, but MY GOD THANK YOU, he didnt give me a ticket for the seat belt :2up:.

This is my 2nd speeding ticket in 2 years, one was 31 over.

yeah it really sucks, but I mean, I learned from it. I'm just happy you didn't have to crash but I hope you're able to tone it down on the road a bit. I try and drive as carefully as I can myself and have really gotten into autocross to let off steam, also, ALWAYS leave early(if you can), so you don't have to rush. Good luck man.

Not bashing you at all. I have been in your shoes before and will prob be there again (shit last week i was almost arrested for shooting signs with a slingshot). If you pay the fine and call it a day you WILL have your license suspended for 6 months. If you go to court, even though you are not required to, and talk to the solicitor there is a good chance he can help you reduce the speed a couple MPH (which is all you need). If you just pay the fine, you will go home and recieve a letter several weeks later saying your license is suspended. by this time you will be too late to apply for a hardship license. Good luck to you. Just my 2 cents

you are 18 or 19 correct? 24+MPH over the speed limit(you were 25MPH right?) for an adult under the age of 21 is automatic license suspension for 6 months for your first violation. I am not lying to you, if anything I am just trying to help. I have lost my license twice due to this law. 1st offense you lose it for 6 months 2nd you lose it fo a year. I imagine you are a student as well. It is very hard to do the college thing without a licese. Look it up.

Talk to a solicitor before pleading Nolo. You never know when you will get caught up in something serious and wish you still had the Nolo plea. Talk to a Solicitor and see what kind of deal you can work. If they wont cut you any slack (highly unlikely) then use your Nolo.

Other way around. If you plead Nolo, you pay the fine but it doesn't go on your record. But generally if you are half way respectful and talk to the solicitor, they will drop it down some. I have had two speeding tickets, one 18 over and one 16 over, both were dropped to 14 over so that they don't add points to my license

Just go to court and talk to the prosecutor and let him/her know you do not want your license suspended because you need to drive to school/work. If you talk to the prosecutor the right way, they will drop your speeding ticket to 24 mph or lower.
