Here are a few more recent cars from work. I thought these were kinda interesting. Thanks for checking them out! :goodjob:

1975 Cadillac Eldorado - what's neat about this car (I guess you could call it neat) is that it has a 500 cu. in. motor, and its FRONT WHEEL DRIVE!!! Wierd!

It's in Greensboro, close to Lake Oconee. It's called David Yearwood's Auto Repair. It's my dad's shop. I have been working there for like 10 years now.

Figured I would add this also, this is our shop cat "Bud". He is a badass! He'll come and chill with you while you are working, and he likes to watch tv too.

I am guessing you meant its a 5000 cubic centimeters motor, 1000 cubic centimeters in every liter, 5.0 liter motor. I am pretty sure no caddy ever had a 500cc/.5 liter motor. And 500 cubic inches would be an 8.2 liters, which is also unlikely in a caddy.

also, call me stupid and slap me silly, but I am pretty sure thats not a front wheel drive, as far as I can tell from the way the engine is mounted. Unless its got a a crazy sides ways transmission from space.

Didn't feel like waiting until Monday to go and take pics of the motor size and the transmission. So I found the proof on wikipedia. I have taken the transmission out of this car before. I wouldn't lie about this stuff man!

In automotive design (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automotive_design), a FF, or Front-engine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Front-engine_design), Front-wheel drive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Front-wheel_drive) layout places both the engine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_combustion_engine) and driven wheels at the front of the vehicle.

When GM's full-size cars were redesigned for 1971, the Eldorado regained both a convertible model and its fender skirts. The 126.3-inch (3,210 mm) wheelbase version of the Eldorado would run through 1978, receiving facelifts in 1973 and 1975.

The Cadillac Eldorado was chosen as the pace car for the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race in 1973. All in all, Cadillac produced 566 of these special pace car convertibles. 33 were used at the track during the race week and the remaining 513 cars were distributed to the U.S. Cadillac dealers (one for each dealership), which were then sold to the general public.

A redesigned instrument cluster was phased in during the 1974 model year (known as the 'space age' instrument panel from Cadillac literature), also shared with Calais, DeVilles and Fleetwoods.

For 1977, the Eldorado received a new grille with a finer crosshatch pattern. The convertible was canceled (although Custom Coach of Lima, Ohio took a few brand-new 1977 and 1978 Eldorados into their coachbuilder facilities and converted into convertibles using salvaged parts from 1971-76 Eldorados; Cadillac did not produce convertibles after 1976). The 8.2L V8 of 1970-76 gave way to a new 7L V8 with 180 bhp (134 kW). Minor changes followed in 1978.

Yeah, it's a really wierd combination! I wish you could see the engine bay in person, the engine is really far to the front. :screwy:

Yeah me too! I'll keep ya posted on any progress. This guy doesn't seem real motivated to do anything with this truck. Maybe it could be my project if he wants to sell. :ninja:

Looks like a fun place to work. There is a guy up the street from me that has a fairlane that looks almost identical to that white one. I can hear him coming in the neighborhood on the weekends and it sounds amazing
