My buddy been wanting to buy a Mitsu 3kgt sl model it's a 92 model. What do you guys think and know about this model.

slow,heavy,FWD and give problems......least that what ive been told

is a SL a SOHC or DOHC?

edit* with 5k thiers alot of better cars out there...like domestics j/k

Only the POS Stealth came as SOHC. 3kGTs are all DOHC. If you find a 3kGT that's SOHC then it's likely had it's engine replaced. I've found a lot of these. Don't buy them.

3kGT SL's aren't bad either, but they aren't worth 5k when he could get either of the two Nissan 300zx Z32 NA's and produce the same amount of horsepower with less weight (And probably less problems) In a RWD car for LESS. There were two on IA just a few days ago for 2300 one, and 3200 the other. Hell, he could buy BOTH Z32's for 5,500 and have three times the car of one 3kGT SL.


Edit: Sorry, should have clarified. First-generation Stealth/3kGT. Later on Mitsu got cheap and put that POS Sohc motor in there, was around 97 or 98.
