well i couldnt get a broke extended lug off my old ek one time so i drove it down the street with 1 lug till the wheel came off and it ripped the fender off...keep in mine this was 3 days after getting the car painted, so i had the whole car painted over again 2 times in a week...lol

Hahaha well the lexus might be the least of the four cause its all Toyota, and thats the one im leaning towards.
Its pretty much unmolested, has an HKS Superdragger exhaust and some uninstalled lowering springs.

Well I consider the diffs an "it is what it is" situation. I spent $1k on it and they fought me on the first one with warranty. Ended up prevailing and they never even questioned the second. At one point (Paul you should remember this) I was running about 35 psi on my mk3; not sure how that equates to torque but I would suspect it to be somewhere in the 425-525 range with my cam and intake manifold.

The problem with the transmissions lies in the style. There are only a few designations of VW transmissions and they are all (generally speaking) easy to interchange. I never had a good one (O2M 6 speed) until my current GTI mostly due to cost. In hindsight, a full conversion would have been cheaper in the long run, but I shelled 2 or 3 of these when I was in high school and college (no $$$).

As a reference, my current VW has 23k with no issues; my previous mk4 had it's first one replaced under warranty at ~15k miles.

i got a d15b8 swap in there. its from a 94 cx. the harness and ecu are from the cx also.

I got a new oil pan and got it back on, let the car idle for about 45mins. Its still leaking from somewhere guess it my rear main seal possibly :( if i take the trans off im gonna go ahead and get a dog box trans or either the dog engaugement conversion and change turbo setups, step up to a 67mm and finish the fuel system

Not saying he's wrong or you're wrong, but when you put that you're almost complete then have "build 5% complete," that doesn't sound right. I mean, whenever something is 5% complete, it is far from being done. I am not hating, I am just simply stating the obvious. 13% is not "almost complete" either. I am not hating just statistics man. You know who I am, so no I am not hating, not even talking shit like I normally do either, LOL. Just if I say something is "almost complete," the shit should be 80-90% and almost done. I mean we all have different perspectives and interpretations on how we see things though. It's all good. I can't wait to see some of you guys actually finish a car. Thought I'd see Drew's, Sean's or yours before I deployed, but maybe they'll still be up when I get back. Look forward to actually seeing you guys on the road, kind of like this M5 I saw one night on my way home from Starbucks, LOL......

There are different map sensors. Some have barometric sensors built in others do not. The ones with out the baro sensor are either a separate sensor or internal to the ecu

Don't forget the ref voltage range vs. calculated MAP; i.e. 5v on a 2 bar is different then 5v on a 3 bar.

I got tired of tryin to swap pulleys because eventually the alternator with the wrong pulley would go out again so I just took the intake off and beat in the frame. It's hard to work on it when I work 6 days a week from 8-6 and now when I get off it's dark.

Now I have to cut my exhaust off to drop the tank cause my piping is ran under it which sucks. I'm gonna change the exhaust again when I'm done though.

Finished my swap fuel pump dont work, order a new one still dont work at this point i got 2 brand new 0 mile walbro's. Checked ALL fuses and relays there all good changed them all anyways though. Pump still dont work so i had to run a fuel cut on/off switch. Then i have a massive oil leak, take the oil pan off and its bent, buy a ls pan it dont fit, borrow a b16, it dont fit, find out i needed a gsr so i looked for one for over a week, get it on still have a small leak, now i think either some how my rear main seal got messed up or the main shaft seal in my tranny got messed up after i put my lsd in and put it back together.

shoot man, i'd find the wires on the main relay responsible for supplying power (since the pump can't be accessed) and just shoot power and a ground to it and see if it turns on. Then at least you know you're barking up the right tree.

cj- we need to remove the wire harness you have because its so screwed up. whatever car your swap came out of, get the same harness that connect into the engine bay...aka- you prob need the entire dash board harness, im not sure.

your car should have a map sensor on the fire wall but it doesn't so you need to get a new harness. it will make it look alot cleaner than i saw to. lo..

Lol @ the thermostat ground Paul. It's gettin no fuel pressure and the line to the FPR is bone dry after trying it for about 10 times. It'll be fixed soon so I'm not worried.

BTW i believe my oil leak is fixed! There was never anything wrong with my old pan. The bend on it didnt hurt. I wasnt tightening the bolts down tight enough. It called for 86inch lbs and i was doing 30 cause the gasket was pressing out and i had done changed it twice i wasnt spending another 36 on a o/p gasket. Tightend it up to what it was calling for and voala! LOL!!! Another one of them slow momments :rolleyes: Ready for the dyno now as soon as my cams and cam gears come in! Cant wait!!!

Warming up is all about the thermostat. However, when youre driving and ambient air is so cold, it is possible to transfer too much heat out of the coolant system keeping the thermostat closed, but not warming up enough. Not an issue in GA. Not cold enough

ps how did you "check" your thermostat? Hopefully the boiling water trick?

Thursday: bars in Williamsport then huge party in Montoursville. (Didn't make it home)

On a side note, my neighbor bought a supercharged MK3 golf and managed to blow it up within two days of owning it.:blah: Been working on it for a few days now and i've discovered:

1. running 16psi non intercooled. I built him a FMIC kit so far and switched to the MK4 upper and lower intake manifolds
2. compression test on cylinder 4 yielded ~50 psi (boo)
3. 'mayo' all over the spark plug from cylinder 1, I assume thats where the head gasket actually blew; head off tomorrow
4. electrode missing from cylinder 3 spark plug

I am still waiting on my trans, manifold, and oil lines. Everything is ordered and should be here this week. I ordered some more misc parts from honda today. I have been waiting for my manifold for like two months and I ordered like seven months ago, they also have my exhaust housing.

I went by Benning Auto Parts today and they said you have been getting a few things from there.
