She bought it in Tenn... they do not require emmissions there... I didn't even think about that when you said you were going to Tenn to look at a car...

Yea the car needs to be driven for a good 30 mins. The cat needs to be smokin hot!! Id say drive it on the hwy for a good 30 45 mins and go get a practice test run and see what it does.Im a toyo lexus tech thats all i work on all day. Def need 96 and older car to be driven for a good while or else you will fail.

5thgcelica

soooo what'd id do. again..gas cap, cat, and run some higher octane fuel through it.. sometimes it'll give you just enough edge to pass it.

from what I have heard turbo cars will fail emissions like every one said unless it is warmed up. I know Japan went to cold emissions and it hurt a lot of the turbo cars over there because they were all failing. Congrats on the car tho :goodjob:

dont know if you've re-taken it, but my uncle had a 87 astro that would fail, and to pass, he would run 93 octane and also put in fuel treatment and run it for about 30-45mins and then go back and test...and pass'ed....he did this a few times and all in the same day.

WTF..kebe
